SA ISIP-ISIP MARAHIL ni Arnell Ignacio, buti pa ang ibang mga bakla of lesser beauty, brains and built, may mga career samantalang siya, one of the most successful stand-up comedians who have crossed over showbiz, ay nabuburo. In short, walang trabaho.
Arnell’s last TV exposure was via GMA’s Gobingo, sa sobra na ngang tagal na nu’n, he hardly earned a page in the history of locally produced games, palibhasa naman kasi it was a game that required not a bit of brawn.
Nitong Lunes, Arnell stormed in sa meeting ng Startalk only to “demo” ‘yung latest niyang digital camera, latest in the sense that any picture taken from it is automatically “photo-shopped.” Talk about the highest level of high technology.
Here’s wishing that Arnell’s latest gizmo can help produce, not just well-photographed shots, but also miracles para maibalik ang kanyang career like scattered bingo cards on a cluttered wooden table.
THE NETWORK WAR further rages matapos maghain ng letter of complaint ang TV5 sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) against the ABS-CBN-owned Skycable due to its repeated refusal to include UHF Channel 41 in its channel line-up.
February 18, 2011 nang sumulat ang TV5 through its legal department sa pamunuan ng Skycable para ipagbigay-alam na magsisi-mula na ang broadcast ng Aksyon TV (on UHF Channel 41) three days later.
Contained in the letter was TV5’s request that the Skycable grant them a free-to-air channel such as Aksyon TV, na maghahatid ng news and sports updates sa loob ng 24 oras.
“REPACKAGED” IN A positive sense ang dating sa amin ni Arci Muñoz who’s now with TV5 kung ikukumpara sa kanyang humble beginnings from GMA’s Starstruck. Nang maging ganap na kasing artista si Arci, hindi pa masyadong lutang ang kanyang “stunning looks” until she crossed over to TV5.
Temang awards night ang gimmick para sa grand launch ng Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak, kung saan Arci plays one of the two central characters (along with Ritz Azul). Kiyeme-kiyemeng naghahanap ng Star of the Night ang ETVN event na ‘yon, kung saan all four nominees, including Dahlia Flores played by Arci, opened with a production number. Then may kani-kanIya na silang individual dance numbers.
At first blush, hindi ko nakilala si Arci who, like a bud, has become a fully developed flo-wer. Gumanda, sumeksi at nagkaroon ng dating ang Starstruck discovery, such qualities na hindi ko nakita during her GMA days!
Anyway, Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak is TV5’s second bold attempt at dramaserye. To premiere on March 21, sana’y tangkilikin din ito ng mga manonood the way they have been supporting Babaeng Hampaslupa.
