KUNG HINDI LANG sana napaaga ang pagboto ng Word of the Year for 2010, hindi marahil napiling salita ng taon ang “jejemon” (successor to colloquial words jeprox and jologs used by the street-smarts).
Eh, kung hindi jejemon ang napili, what word would have been chosen? Ano pa, eh ‘di major-major, thanks to Maria Venus Raj! Bagama’t grammarians would insist na hindi ito isang word kundi phrase (group of words), in the context of Venus, taken as one word ito.
Not only should major-major be chosen as Word of the Year (baka sa 2011 na lang) locally, but also internationally as it was widely heard.
Anyway, ang pagiging fourth runner-up ni Venus as Miss Universe 2010 did not come with a major-major prize. May konting cash gift lang daw ‘yon, of course, with a bouquet of flowers handed to her, But Venus’s official major-major work begins as she continues the legacy of her Binibining Pilipinas predecessor Melody Gersbach sa pagpapalawig ng Miss Bicolandia.
KSP na siya ngayon, but it doesn’t stand for Kulang Sa Pansin, but rather Kapit Sa Patalim. At hanggang Facebook nga’y hindi ikinahihiya ng aktor that he so badly needs to survive whatever it takes.
Kung tutuusin, hindi pa naman kagurangan ang aktor na ‘yon, he must be in his early 30’s. Kumbaga sa a la carte, main course pa rin naman siyang puwedeng pagpiyestahan ng mga bakla.
Da who ang aktor na ‘yon na may self-balloon na : “Parang awa n’yo na, hadahin n’yo ako!”? Isyogo na lang natin siya sa neymsung na Manolo Jambalaya!
GIVEN NA ANG fashionable element ng programang The Bottomline ni Boy Abunda, that airs every Saturday night after Banana Split on ABS-CBN. Hindi man nakikita nang buo ang outfit ni Kuya Boy (as he’s seated all throughout the show), his sartorial look pays tribute to one of the country’s most underrated fashion designers, si Arielle Agasang.
While Kuya Boy does not really maintain a steady designer, as far as I know, he simply loves both variety and vivacity in terms of the apparel he dons.
Minsan nang dinamitan ni Arielle ang inyong lingkod, I had to go to Arielle’s shop along Kamias Road (du’n pa ba ‘yon, malapit sa dating opisina ng Backroom, Inc. ni Kuya Boy?) para sukatan. It was a two-piece ensemble which I wore nu’ng mag-mall show ang radio program namin ni Kuya Boy many years ago, which I wore many years later. Isinuot ko ang mala-jacket na katerno ng pantalon when I auditioned for Tweetbiz last October 16, 2009. Luckily, I passed. Heto nga’t magsi-season 4 na ang Tweetbiz, thanks to Arielle.
