Ang Best Nanay Awards ay proyekto ng Make Your Nanay Proud Foundation (MYNP), a civic organization that aims to gather Filipinos who love their mothers and encourages them to become model citizens whom their mothers can be proud of. MYNP gave the Best Nanay trophies to 10 deserving mothers. The criteria for judging included the mother’s integrity and character, their inspiring stories, and their good influence on people.
Through them we can proudly say that MYNP is truly here to pay tribute to mothers and acknowledge the noblest job in the world: motherhood.
Kabilang sa magic 10 sina Gloria Baltar (57), Rosa Balana (90), Carmen Ragonjan (68), Josefina G. Olorocisimo (53), Angelita Guiteng (61), Lorna Garnace (43), Magdalena Aquino (78), Zoraida Motil (63), Cecille Sibunga (62), at Leonarda Camacho (90).
Nominators were also given plaques of appreciation for their initiative to help MYNP in finding the deserving women. Pinangunahan sila ni former First Lady Imelda Marcos who attended on behalf of Governor Imee Marcos.
The book was published by ABS-CBN Publishing.
Ayon kay Bemz Benedito, MYNP managing director, “Much time and effort were devoted to the collection of quotations, essays, and artworks of people who uniquely responded to the question, ‘How do you make your Nanay proud?’’
