For sure, in her moments of solitude ay nagtatanong din si Ai-Ai delas Alas kung bakit so far—since her transfer to GMA from ABS-CBN—ay nakadalawang short-lived shows na siya. May naiwan nga, blocktimer naman.
Around this time last year nang ipa-presscon ng GMA ang soap na “Let The Love Begin”, but the love that began until it ended ay hindi namin naramdaman. Kamukat-mukat mo, natapos na pala ang kuwento or shall we say, tinapos na agad perhaps because of dismal ratings.
Then came CelebriTV, the non-descript show replacing the nearly 20 year-old Startalk. Earlier, naisulat na namin dito (sa Pinoy Parazzi) na hanggang May 7 na lang ito, staying on air barely eight months.
So, that leaves Ai-Ai delas Alas with one show, ang Sunday PinaSaya which is not station-produced.
Tinanong namin ang isang TV analyst kung may epekto ito sa career ni Ai Ai given the cancellation of her shows one after the other. Tugon ng aming kausap, “She must be regretting her leaving ABS-CBN all because she could no longer put up with her ‘nemesis’ na aalis din naman pala!”
Of course, ang tinutukoy na “nemesis” ni Ai Ai na naging dahilan ng kanyang pag-alis sa ABS-CBN ay si Kris Aquino no less.
SA SINUSUBAYBAYANG kuwento ng “Ismol Family”, tipikal na padre de familia si Jingo (Ryan Agoncillo), a patient and resolute household member who can tell what’s right from wrong.
Kaya naman kahit dumarami ang acts of misjudgment ng kanyang biyenang si Mama A (Carmi Martin), Jingo asserts his rights as the master of the house, pero taglay pa rin niya ang kanyang paggalang sa elderly figure sa tahanan being the mother of the woman (Majay played by Carla Abellana) he chose to marry.
Maging ang mga kapalpakan o kaguluhang dala ng kanilang mga kasambahay are a test to Jingo’s patience. In the end, he is able to put everything back in order para mapanatiling harmonious ang relationship ng kanyang mga kasama sa bahay.
In truth, there are too many Jingos around us, as there are too many mothers-in-law tulad ni Mama A na nagkokontrabida sa buhay mag-asawa. Ang maganda sa “Ismol Family”, family issues get resolved in the end as there are lessons worth-imparting.
