NOT NECESSARILY a showbiz item: Nais lang naming batiin ng maligayang 51st birthday ngayong araw si Ai-Ai delas Alas whose wisdom in judgment—it occurred to us—kung tutuusin ay puwedeng gamitin sa Starstruck.
Having hosted Pilipinas Got Talent in her former network, kuwela kung maisisingit si Ai Ai bilang proxy sa Friday live telecast ng show in the absence of either Regine Velasquez or Jennylyn Mercado, or both.
On a personal note naman, hangad namin ang patuloy na pananagumpay ng komedyana sa lahat ng aspeto ng kanyang buhay.
EVEN IF its rival stations will agree: the strength of GMA ETV lies in its comedy programs (while ABS-CBN’s drama shows are unmatched).
Looks like ang programming thrust ng GMA sa 2016 is heavily anchored on comedy, thanks to shows like Bubble Gang, Pepito Manaloto and Ismol Family. Sa panahong nais maibsan ng aburidong Pinoy ang lumalalang sakit ng lipunan—indeed—laughter is the best medicine.
Just this Saturday ay idinaos ang “graduation” among the workshoppers—composed of network talents—na nagsanay sa comedy writing. Helmed by Michael V, most writers—myself included—can’t help na malungkot sa development na ito dahil ibig sabihin ay mukhang wala nang puwang ang mga nagsusulat sa mga showbiz-oriented talk show.
Iba pa rin ang viewing pleasure ng tsismisan, likas na rin kasi sa Pinoy na pagkunan ito ng tuwa as an escape from the harsh realities of day-to-day living.
