KUNG TUTUUSIN, SIMPLENG tampuhan lang ang namamagitan kina Heart Evangelista at Raymond Gutierrez, if not a non-issue that should find its way out of the public consciousness.
Unang eksena: Sa studio ng Party Pilipinas. Heart walked in, saw Raymond in a huddle with another person, tapped the latter’s shoulder as a sign of greeting. Nu’ng akmang lilingunin na raw ni Raymond si Heart to acknowledge her gesture, nakalayo na ito.
Sumunod na eksena: Sa studio ng Showbiz Central. Binati o nginitian daw ni Raymond si Heart, but the latter did not smile back.
On both instances, inakala nina Heart at Raymond na inisnab nila ang isa’t isa. Puwede kasing isipin that tension still grips the Evangelista-Gutierrez over Heart’s withdrawal from Annabelle Rama’s management agency.
Nagpaliwanag na si Heart sa Tweetbiz via a phone patch interview nitong Martes, so did Raymond the following episode. Kapwa may punto ang dalawa, no need to take either side. Ganoon na lang marahil ang kanilang somewhat hurt feelings, after all, theirs was like a sibling friendship during their happier times.
MALAKI ANG PANANAGUTAN ng mag-asawang Albert at Liezl Martinez whose son Alfonso is now the target of negative publicity dahil sa itinweet nito tungkol sa pagiging “stupid” ng pelikulang Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last Na ‘To).
Such language (that begins with “What the f…ck) is only reflective of how Alfonso was brought up by his parents at kung ano ang natutunan nito sa paaralan, kung meron man. Formation of values starts at home through parental nourishment and is enhanced in school. Obviously, kapos si Alfonso ng mga elementong ito that backfires at the parenting style of Albert and Liezl, sad to say.
Even more ironic is the completeness and strength of Albert’s family, na nakukuha pa ngang magpakatatag during Liezl’s battle with breast cancer. But with Alfonso’s behaviour, it’s even worse than a terminal disease that has killed the Martinez’s reputation!
Ito naman ang puwedeng ipagmalaki ni Ai-Ai de las Alas sa kanyang pamilya, ma-respeto ang kanyang tatlong anak sa kabila ng kakulangan in their household, that is, a father figure.
Kung sa bagay, a mango tree does not bear guavas.
IN FAIRNESS TO Rosanna Roces, tinanghal siyang Best Actress sa Dinagyang Film Festival (in Iloilo) many years ago for her performance in Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin. ‘Yun nga lang, for some reason, hindi niya personal na tinanggap ang tropeo.
But a trophy—I believe—does not just come in a sculptured piece made of wood or metal, or a combination of both. Puwede rin kasi itong maging “abstract token” as in the form of trust na ipinagkatiwala sa kanya noon ng kaibigang Dra. Vicki Belo na ginampanan niya sa Magpakailanman.
Tulad ng tiwalang ipinagkaloob ni Vicki kay Osang, it’s now the latter’s turn to accord the same confidence to Katherine Luna na gaganap naman bilang Rosanna Roces sa Star Confessions ng TV5, tuwing Miyerkules ng gabi. Kamakailan, nagwagi bilang Best Actress si Katherine sa isang film festival in Thailand.
Hosted by dear friend Cristy Fermin, ewan kung hanggang saan ang partisipasyon ng Paparazzi host sa pagbabalangkas ng buhay ni Osang, herself (Cristy) an off-and-on friend ni Osang. Back in our Mariposa Publications years, pinasikat ng mga lathalain nitong magasin ang tungkol sa Bruneiyuki isyu kung saan sangkot si Jennifer Adriano alias Hazel, who was later screennamed Ana Maceda, only to be rechristened Rosanna Roces.
Walang kuwestiyon sa acting ni Katherine, she’s an underrated actress too big for small acting breaks coming her way. But a “sanitized” version of Osang’s life on TV would amount to fiction.
