BONGGA ang film industry at aktibong-aktibo ang mga film producers, screen writers at directors dahil ngayong taon ay mas madaming mga nag-submit ng script ang ipinadala sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 Screening Committee na nagho-hopia (umaasa) na makapasa at mapabilang sa natitirang last four slots sa kategoryang full length film na sila ang mapili.
Nauna na napili sa first four slot na makakasama sa MMFF 208 sa December ang pelikulang Aurora na bida si Anne Curtis na horror ang genre; Fantastica: The Princess, The Prince and the Perya na ang unkabogable box-office superstar na si Vice Ganda ang nangunguna; Popo en Jack, The Puliscredibles na pagtatambalan nina Coco Martin at Bossing Vic Sotto at ang romcom na Girl in Orange Dress na bida naman sina Jericho Rosales at Jessy Mendiola.
Sa remaining four slots, itong mga pelikula ang pagpipilian pa namely: Regal – Barang (horror); Reality Entertainment – Fake Korean / Ultimate Oppa (rom-com);Cobalt Productions – Hawa (horror); Cape Signal Rock – The Stranger (action); The Idea First Company – Hating Gabi (horror); Imus Productions – Agimat, My Super Kap (action adventure); Great Czar Media Productions – The Covenant: a Monad Shoal Legend (action fantasy); Cineko – Mang Kepweng Returns Again (comedy); Octoarts – Pagkagat ng Dilim (horror); Star Cinema ABS-CBN Productions – EERIE (horror mystery); Star Cinema ABS-CBN Productions – The Affair (drama); Provill Studios: General Admission (dark comedy);Likhang Silangan Entertainment: Rainbow’s Sunset (family drama); Quantum Films/MJM: Always (light drama);APT Entertainment: Balon (horror drama); Gallaga & Reyes Films / Brightlight Prod: Magicland (fantasy adventure); T Rex Entertainment: Class of 2018 (horror thriller) at Ten 17P Films: Mary, Marry Me (rom-com); Obtacinema & Cineko: Gulong ng Palad (drama).
