VERY INSIGHTFUL ANG exclusive interview ni Ricky Lo (for Startalk TX that was aired last Saturday) kay Baron Geisler who — after six months and three weeks — had been released from a rehabilitation institution last Wednesday.
He also attributes his loss of weight to scrubbing the floor, being the team leader in the receiving (sala) area.
Asked what important lesson he had learned while confined at the rehab center, Baron admits to being more spiritual now. I would like to think na sa mga sandaling binibigkas ng aktor ang mga salitang ‘yon, such words were not coming from his nose.
Oo nga raw at nais niyang mu-ling makatrabaho si Cherry Pie Picache for the actress to see “a different side of me,” pagdating sa tanong kung handa na rin ba siyang humingi ng sorry kay Yasmien Kurdi, Baron’s straight reply: “That I cannot answer.”
He cites the pending acts of lasciviousness case filed by Yasmien with the Malolos Regional Trial Court, and that it’s his lawyer who should answer for him.
For one, ang dali-daling sabihin ni Baron na, “Yes, I’m willing to ask for an apology,” pero lumalabas na wala pa ring admission of guilt on his part for his refusal to give any answer.
Mahusay kung mahusay ang aktor na ito when it comes to his attack to whatever role assigned to him, as in drama, the greatest challenge for an actor is to be able to breathe and live his screen character.
Lalong kumplikado ang ginampa-nan ng aktor na ito sa isang namaalam nang teleserye, as he did a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Yet he performed the dual role to the hilt.
Somewhere though ay tila may kakulangang dapat punan ang aktor na ito, it’s not enough that he – no doubt – delivered a sterling performance worthy of consistent nominations, if not straight victories, in next year’s awards for TV.
Tulad ng isang mang-aawit, no matter how great he/she sounds but is trapped into this, hindi 100% ang aanihin niyang pagpasa. Sa last frame kasi ng aktor in his astringent TVC ay may linya siyang, “A quality product OP (sic)…(name of product),” when the preposition “OF” should be pronounced as “OV.”
Next to acting, I think it is also important that our actors do not just undergo drama workshops. At the very least, dapat i-integrate sa mga pagsasanay na ito ang speech lessons most specially when the role calls for basic spoken English.
Kuya Dan, do I HAB a FOINT?
