MALAKI ANG FAN base ng K-Pop dito sa bansa. Korean Wave or Hallyu is now sweeping across the country like storm. Mapa-drama man o kanta ay tiyak na kakagatin ito ng mga die-hard fans. K-Pop idol groups like Super Junior, FT Island, Shinee, U-Kiss and 4Minute have visited the country and performed before their devoted fans. Super Junior recently filled Araneta Coliseum to the rafters with their three-hour concert which also wrapped up their Asian tour. Sino naman kayang K-Pop group ang susunod na dadalaw sa bansa?
I think Asianovelas have played an important role in promoting Korean culture to Pinoys. Minahal ng mga Pinoy ang mga nakakikilig at hit na Koreanovelas gaya ng Boys Over Flowers, Lovers in Paris, My Girl, Only You, Memories in Bali, Princess Lulu, Princess Hours, Save The Last Dance For Me, Spring Waltz, among others. Hindi ba’t nagkaroon pa ng mga Pinoy adaptations ang My Girl, Only You at Lovers in Paris na pinagbidahan ng mga hottest stars natin sa showbiz?
Speaking of Boys Over Flowers, Kim Bum who played F4’s So Yi Jung even came to the country to shoot a softdrink commercial with the beautiful Maja Salvador. His killer smile and drop-dead gorgeous looks make him a perfect poster boy.
Dahil sa kanyang kasikatan, Kim Bum starred in a special television program to celebrate the 7th anniversary of KBS World around the world. The special program called World Date with Kim Beom will see him and five lucky fans from Asia go on a 4 days, 3 nights trip to Seoul and Jeju Island in South Korea.
Our very own Bianca Gonzales was one of the lucky girls who got a once in a lifetime chance to meet and bond with Kim Bum.
In a phone patch interview with SNN, Bianca shared, “Pumunta kami ng KBS office kasi may briefing daw kung ano ang gagawin doon sa unang araw with Kim Bum. Kinunan kami ng picture. Smile kami. Noong ibinaba ng cameraman ang camera niya, si Kim Bum na pala. Doon namin siya first nakita.”
She said after their meeting, they rode a bus and went to a sheep ranch that was four hours away from Seoul. “Nagpunta kami sa isang sheep ranch. Nagpakain kami ng sheep at si Kim Bum ang nagbigay ng pagkain ng sheep.” He also flew a kite and cooked their meal. “Ang ending, ang niluto niya ay mala-fried rice pero ang tawag niya ay home rice. It was a fun first date and it was also nice to see the other side of Kim Bum.”
Sinabi ni Bianca na nagpapasalamat daw si Kim Bum sa mga Pinoy dahil sa kanilang walang sawang pagsuporta sa Korean F4.
