THE TIME has come: BTS is finally having their MTV Unplugged debut!
Just in time for the release of the ‘BE’ – Essential Edition album scheduled on February 19, MTV recently confirmed that the septet will be performing a special set recorded in Seoul.
The MTV Unplugged series is one of the iconic stages of the music channel where artists are given the chance to perform a semi-acoustic live band set. Some of the notable performers who’ve graced the MTV Unplugged stage in the past include Paul McCartney, Nirvana, George Michael, Lauryn Hill and many more. The K-pop superstars will now join the ranks of internationally renowned performers.
According to a press release for MTV Unplugged, BTS will be giving the fans a front-row seat to never-before-seen versions of some of their most career-defining hits and tracks from their latest album ‘BE’. Majority of the songs from the album haven’t been performed live yet as we write this.
The Bangtan boys have a good mix of rap, dance and ballad songs, which makes the idea of having an MTV Unplugged set more exciting. As early as now, the ARMY (BTS fans) are already guessing on which songs will RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook perform.
This historical music event will be shown on February 23 (Tuesday) at 9PM ET exclusively on MTV in the US and will air in different parts of the world. For Philippine-based fans, the show will premiere on MTV Asia on February 24 at 10AM.
