REALLY, TIMES DO change.
Regal’s in-house managers included Douglas Quijano (SLN), Lolit Solis, among others. Pinamili raw ni Mother Lily si ‘Nay Lolit as to who—between Gretchen and Nadia—she wanted to manage. She chose Nadia, whose charm and innocence had won Richard Gomez’s heart, if not had broken it.
Aprub na sana kay ‘Nay Lolit ang pagiging surrogate mom ni Nadia kay Mark, pero her ward’s closeness to his girlfriend’s mom seems to have adversely affected his work attitude. Nariyang late daw duma-ting si Mark sa mga events, even at his own pocket interview.
Milya-milya na raw, in fact. At ang tila ipinaghihimutok ni ‘Nay Lolit ay ang sobrang kumpiyansa ni Nadia that Mark is well taken care of bilang tagapagturo sa aktor on how to plan his career.
Natural, ‘Nay Lolit issued a vehement reaction. Sey niya: “How could she (Nadia) teach something that she never had? Hindi naman sumikat si Nadia, ‘no!”
In fairness, Nadia shot to fame, hindi nga lang bilang artista, but because of the political world she needed to embrace. Need I say more?
HOSTED BY PEKTO and Chariz Solomon, late evening na nitong Martes natapos ang GMA party for the press held at the Studio 6, ang studio rin ng Startalk TX kaya no wonder na ang ginamit na backdrop sa event na ‘yon ay props din ng naturang talk show.
Of the network press parties, ang GMA ang “walang umuwing luhaan” sa party dahil ang natitirang 41 press people whose names were not called to participate in the spin-the-roleta each received P2,000 courtesy of Manny Pacquiao. A total of P300,000 ang pinakawalan ni Pacman as pledge (to be claimed after Christmas nga lang), bukod pa sa tigsasampung libong piso from Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Mike Enriquez and GMA Life TV.
Personally, nakakapanibago lang ang CorpComm staff in full force whose faces I had not seen for two consecutive Christmas parties for the press. Gusto ko na lang isipin that I was transported back to my happier, friendlier times with them, but ONLY on that occasion, pero balik sa dating gawi when presscons for upcoming shows/programs are held.
Even then, enough of this emotional stir. Gusto ko na ring isipin that whatever ugly issue I had with the GMA CorpComm in the past has found itself buried in the rubble of oblivion. Sincerely, my thanks to Ms. Angel Javier and her ever hardworking staff.
HOW NICE A gesture ‘yung ginawang pagdalaw lang naman ni Sheena Halili sa GMA press party, of all the network artists na inaasahan mong aakyat sa stage to raffle off P5,000 in cash from her own pocket.
Susme naman, Rich, what makes you think you do matter to Tweetbiz… bluntly put, in showbiz?!
