IN LIFE, there are no coincidences, so they say.
Pero para kay Carla Abellana, purely coincidental lang daw ang partnership nila ni Ryan Agoncillo sa aabangang family-oriented sitcom ng GMA, ang Ismol Family, to premiere this June 22.
Naitanong kasi namin kung masasabing foreshadowing of sorts ang mga huling episode ng My Husband’s Lover kung saan implied that Lally (played by Carla) and Ryan’s character hit it off in the end. Nagkataon pa na ang direktor nila sa MHL is also the directorial genius behind Ismol Family, si Dominic Zapata.
In the sitcom, tables are turned as Majay (Carla) is the provider in the household habang househusband naman si Jingo (Ryan). In fairness though, hindi naman PAL as in palamuninang asawa si Ryan who tends a bike shop.
Asked kung sa totoong buhay ba’y okey lang kay Carla na siya ang naghahanap-buhay while her husband is jobless, “Ay, huwag naman. Team effort kasi ‘yan, eh. Kahit ako rin, if ever I see myself married in the future, basta capable pa rin akong magtrabaho, I will still work to help my husband with our family needs.”
Sadly, marriage is a remote idea now. Tulad ng alam ng marami, her boyfriend of several years na si Geoff Eigenmann is already a thing of the past.
Not only is Geoff a thing of the past, having gotten over their relationship ay tila “fast” din para sa actor. Nagdiwang ng kanyang kaarawan si Carla last Thursday, June 12. Aniya, “Hindi man lang niya ako ginreet, samantalang nu’ng birthday niya, nandu’n pa ‘ko. Anyway, it’s not my loss.”
Meanwhile, Ismol Family replaces Ryan’s Picture! Picture! (na wala pang definite airing date sa pagbabalik nito sa ere) na mapapanood din tuwing Linggo after 24 Oras Weekend.
