Parang kailan lang when Charice joined the Little Big Star singing contest where she emerged third placer. Charice’s life story is inspiring. Everyone wants to be on her shoes now. She is globally famous. In fact, it was her fourth time to guest in The Oprah Winfrey Show last May 11. Charice is close to Oprah and she even calls her Mommy Oprah. She formally launched her first international self-titled album on the show. Her single Pyramid has reached the Number 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
She sang “Pyramid” with Iyaz and “In This Song” with David Foster who was there to accompany her. Before her performance, ipinakita muna ang kanyang life story tracing her humble beginnings as a singer until she reached her dream to perform internationally with various famous artists like Andrea Boccelli and Celine Dion.
Oprah praised her saying, “She is one of the most talented young people we’ve ever had on ‘The Oprah Show.’ We first met her two years ago, a gifted little girl from half way around the world.”
“I’m really, really excited because this is actually my first ever Pop-RnB album. I’ve been singing Whitney Houston’s and Celine Dion’s songs and now I can’t believe that these are my own songs. I’m really happy.”
“All these are happening to me because a lot of people actually helped me and you are one of them. Thank you so much.”
Her success is the success of every Filipino.
Charice is the biggest proof today that dreams still come true!
