LIKE (CONJOINED?) SISTERS separated at birth, kulang na lang ay i-feature ng programang Reunions ni Jessica Soho (on QTV 11) ang muli naming pagkikita ng isa sa mga bespren ko sa showbiz, si Eagle Riggs.
Although Eagle and I are constantly on texting terms, finally, our paths crossed again sa ginanap na thanksgiving party ng Viva Films for the box-office success of Petrang Kabayo. Eagle reprises the role of Zorayda Sanchez (SLN) in the remake as the Diyosa ng mga Kabayo. Grounded and humble that I’ve known Eagle to be, keber kung hindi siya ang original choice for the part, thanks to his dear friend, director Wenn Deramas.
And speaking of Direk Wenn, hailed as the new box-office director, kapwa kami nalulungkot ni Eagle that a raging verbal tussle between Wenn and equally dear friend Jobert Sucaldito might be a prequel to the November Manny versus Margarito boxing bout! Buntalan kung buntalan na ‘to, ‘teh!
Eagle is admittedly close to Direk Wenn, na may kunek din sa akin dahil ang alaga nitong si DJ Durano ay kaibigan ko na from way back. I am also a self-confessed friend cum fan of Jobert who’s alongside Boy Abunda sa mga itinuturing kong (iilan lang namang) bespren ko sa showbiz.
Sandwiched like jam or peanut butter in this seemingly tasteless war, naisip tuloy namin ni Eagle – at least in our humble effort – to concoct a recipe of peace. Sabi nga ng kumpareng Ogie Diaz, napakaliit lang ng ating mundo, entonces, let’s love one another.
In a word prophesied to end on December 21, 2012… a simple “’Teh, bati na tayo!” will create a new world.
KUMBAGA SA MATRAPIK na daanan, TV5’s Willing Willie has made a detour without ramming a program of similar form and format and formula.
Whether ang mga nakasabay nitong programa noong Sabado, particularly news programs, Willie Revillame’s redemption on TV sa kabila ng kinakaharap niyang legal problem served as a window of curiosity and excitement.
Curiosity on the part of ABS-CBN kung ano nga ba ang panlaban nito that would surpass Willie’s axed program. Excitement naman sa parte ng mga viewers whose good fortune rests on Willie.
Again, the fun didn’t start there, mahaba pa ang legal hurdles na kailangang suungin ni Willie.
BLIND ITEM: MUKHANG mapapaaga ang pagsibak sa isang pang-araw-araw na programa (I won’t mention which format), na kumbaga sa isang pabula ay mistula itong pagong na kalaban ay kuneho.
Hindi pa rin kasi makaarangkada sa ratings ang show na ito, kaya ganu’n na lang daw ang pagka-upset ng staff nito. Ewan, if the main host feels the same way.
Hindi sa format ng programa kami magbibigay ng clue, kundi sa host nito. Bahala na kayong manghula kung ano ang kanyang gender, but the TV personality gunned for a government post. Sad to say, niyakap niyang muli ang showbiz nang matalo.
Da who si host? Isyogo na lang natin siya sa kursong Mechanical Engineering!
