WHAT DO Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have in common?
Dating Kapuso star si Kathryn who played the young Marian Rivera in the Tagalized version of Stairway to Heaven. Matapos ang teleseryeng ‘yon, Kathryn was seen next in Mara Clara where her career blossomed.
Kung hindi kami nagkakamali, unang inirampa ng kanyang inang si Karla Estrada si DJ (Daniel’s pet name) sa GMA, but for some reason ay hindi nakapasa ang bagets.
Now, both Kathryn and Daniel are household names, thanks to Princess & I, the TV series that paved the way for DJ. Sa dahilang ito kung bakit ipinangsahog ang kanilang tambalan sa Sisterakas, Star Cinema’s entry to last year’s MMFF.
Pero sabi nga, hitting it big is a matter of time. Sa kauna-unahang pagkakaon, Kathryn and Daniel debut in their first ever full-length screen partnership via Star Cinema’s Must Be…Love (wonder, bakit walang “it” sa pamagat).
Totoo rin bang sa likod ng kanilang tandem, there must be love in the air? Aminado sina Kathryn at Daniel that theirs is a relationship far from being serious. Kung ilarawan nila ang namamagitan sa kanila, there’s MU or mutual understanding.
As in any romantic relationship, the couple has to start somewhere. Mga bagets lang talaga ang dalawa, so the safer way to describe their set-up is just that, MU sila. It’s best that they leave it that way minus the “Malicious Undertones”.
CONSCIOUSLY OR otherwise, marunong mag-VI-GUY (read: magbigay) sa isa’t isa ang noo’y arch rivals na sina Vilma Santos at Nora Aunor, Nora Aunor at Vilma Santos in this day and age when the major rivalry—it appears—is focused on the country’s two premiere TV networks.
Kung matatandaan, nang magbalik si Ate Guy sa bansa for a TV assignment and a film offer, nagkataong tahimik ang kampo ni Ate Vi biding its time para mag-ingay. But Ate Vi’s strategy is not geared towards creating showbiz noise, bagkus her political agenda is what concerns her first and foremost.
Sa ngayon, Ate Vi regains her showbiz edge dahil pinag-uusapan ang kanyang kauna-unahang indie film. On the other hand, there seems to be a news blackout on Ate Guy.
Marami tuloy ang nagtatanong: nasaan na raw ba ngayon ang Superstar? Too many versions of her sudden appearance have surfaced, kung paanong ang kanyang pagkawala ay meron din daw kaakibat na consequence as far as her commitments are concerned.
Is it true that Ate Guy fled to the US, pero hindi siya ma-trace kung saang State siya tumungo? Totoo nga bang meron siyang nakabinbing proyekto na tinanggapan niya ng paunang bayad? Gaano rin katotoo na kinansela na ng TV5 ang kanyang guaranteed contract?
Showbiz can only run down a list of questions na si Ate Guy lang ang tanging makasasagot. One thing’s for sure—and has always been—Ate Vi is made of different stuff.
