Mapili si Dina Bonnevie sa kanyang roles be it on movies or television.
Nagustuhan niya ang kanyang papel sa “Magtanggol”, ang indie film about OFWs directed by Sigfreid Barros Sanchez.
She plays the second wife of Jonee Gamboa na isang retired politician. Dina Bonnevie sees all the things happening in the Magtanggol family and her role is very pivotal.
“I don’t do movies to make some money on the table. When I do a role, I want it to be socially relevant. I always want a movie that will teach the viewers something or will leave a thought in their minds that when they leave the movie house or when they watch an episode, they would think, ‘Ano nga ba?
“So, when I read the script, I readily accepted the role. Kasi sabi kom napaka-socially relevant nito. Even if you ask them, gusto mo bang mag-work?
“But, ano ang kapalit? A lot of them are from broken families. Yumaman sila pero naghiwalay sila or pagdating doon may asawa roon, may asawa rito. So marami ring take. Kumbaga, there’s a lot of gift that you get, pero there’s a lot of take. So it’s up to you to police yourself. Kaya nga sinabi ko, ano ang ipagtatanggol mo, ‘yung dangal mo o ‘yung gusto mo. I took this role because I want to be the voice. Hey, wake up everybody. It’s time for us to police our own to really see what we can do,” dagdag pa niyang paliwanag.
