KUNG BALITANG SUBJECT of a family dispute ang napipintong pagpapakasal nina Dolphy at Zsa Zsa Padilla (now that the latter’s marriage to her dentist-husband has been annulled) sa parte ng ace comedian, this does not exist in Vandolph’s vocabulary.
Ani Vandolph, kung saan masaya ang kanyang ama ay du’n din siya. Katuwiran pa nga ng anak ng Comedy King, naunahan pa nga niya ang kanyang tatay as he and Jenny Solimao are a married couple.
To say the least, hindi kami naniniwala na may mga anak si Tito Dolphy na humaharang if ever sa altar humantong ang ilang taon nang pagsasama nila ni Zsa Zsa. Pinalalabas kasi ng ilan na madi-disinherit ang ibang mga anak ng komedyante once legally/officially married.
Lest we forget, sa tagal ng panahong unmarried si Tito Dolphy, he has never been remiss in his paternal obligations, na kung tutuusin nga’y dapat gumradweyt na siya from this responsibility para matuto naman ang iba niyang mga anak to fend for themselves.
Of Tito Dolphy’s children, Vandolph is most understanding towards his dad, not to say that the others are not, ha?
Kapag nagkataon, the Quizon-Padilla nuptials will be the biggest altar date ever in the history of showbiz. Who would think na pagkahaba-haba man ng relasyon ay sa simbahan din pala ang bagsak? Does it not only prove that love can wait even if it may take forever?
NGAYONG GABI ANG farewell episode ng Tweetbiz Insiders, taking a graceful exit after nearly one and a half years (it piloted December 7, 2009). Malapit sa aking puso ang programang nagbigay-daan to self-validation that I could do more than writing scripts for TV, but also interacting hosting, a dream I thought I would not be able to see come true.
The entry point did not come easy. Inanunsiyo ng noo’y QTV11 through text ang gaganaping auditions for the so-called paparazzi as a backup to the already chosen hosts made up of Tim Yap, Mr. Fu and Sam Y.G. a.k.a Shivaker. Sumalang kami ng kaibigang Gorgy Rula to the auditions, armed with nothing but “kaya-natin-‘to-teh!” attitude.
At nabola naman namin sila!
Hindi 100% original ang concept, actually patterned after an American show, but definitely the first in the history of local showbiz-oriented talk shows.
Creative modifications had to be made: nariyang may mang-huhula (Mr. E), may Gorgy Hula (blind item corner), may Yaparazzi (for Tim’s exclusive snap shots), and my segment (whose title was brilliantly hatched by writer Loi Landicho) Carrasquotes assigning an extemporaneous title to the biggest story of the day.
As Tweetbiz evolved, nabago rin ang titulo nito when QTV11 was replaced with GMA NewsTV to address a newsier, more aggressive thrust in its total makeover. Nadagdag sa tinawag nang Tweetbiz Insiders sina Gelli de Belen, Fabio Ide at Lolit Solis. As hosts were added, may nadagdag ding segment, ang Tweetserye Presents, that chronicled a feature celebrity’s day-to-day activities or issues na kunektado sa kanya.
I must say I had done “dream interviews” with two of the most exciting subjects: Marlene Aguilar and Ali Sotto.
Looking back, malungkot ang pagkawala ng Tweetbiz para sa akin. Not only because of the perks I enjoyed (isang halimbawa na lang ang noo’y obscure personality na meron ako), but the emotional attachment brought about by the familial ties developed amongst us: magmula sa caterer hanggang utility staff, propsmen, small and big and in-between people, everybody else.
If it’s any consolation, we all believed we had a good run. We rated, we were watched. Pero sabi nga, some good things—like shows on TV—never last.
Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga nakasama namin sa Tweetbiz, you will all be missed sorely. And to the management for believing in us, and hopefully, for believing in us again kung sakaling mabibigyan uli kami ng pagkakataon… umaasa raw kami, o!
