KUNG SINU-SINO na ang idinadawit ng mga nagpapabagsak kay Vice President Jejomar Binay. Ang latest na biktima ay si Edu Manzano na dating vice mayor ng Makati.
Ayon sa expose ni former Makati Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado, nagkaroon ng kickbacks from favored contractors sa mga infrastructure projects sa Makati ang mayor down to the lowest rank during their terms between 1999 and 2014.
Kaagad naman itong itinanggi ni Edu sa pamamagitan ng pag-iisyu niya ng official statement as stated below:
“During my term as vice mayor of Makati City from 1998 to 2001, I have not participated nor did I benefit, directly or indirectly, from any kind of dealings with these contractors, nor received any kickback, gift, reward or any pecuniary benefit or advantage relative to any contract, project or transaction entered into, for and in behalf of the Makati City governnment.
“I join the public in their clamor and quest for the truth. It is my sincere hope, and I guess that of many, that such quest be conducted fairly and justly.”
Wala naman kaming balita na may balak ulit tumakbo si Edu for public office, pero bakit pati siya ay tinitira? Grabe talaga ang pulitika, huh.
