THE ERASERHEADS STAGED the highly-anticipated second half of their reunion concert titled Eraserheads Live! The Final Set at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds last March 7. Around 100,000 people watched the concert.
The E-heads composed of Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro was dubbed “The Beatles of the Philippines.” The group was considered one of the most influential bands of the ‘90s in OPM history. Their songs are timeless and they transcend generations.
After they disbanded in 2002, marami pa rin ang nangarap na muling makita at marinig ang E-Heads. Many thought it was impossible to see them together again onstage since the four talented musicians already had their own separate bands: Ely with Pupil, Raimund with Sandwich, Buddy with The Dawn, and Marcus with Markus Highway. But the clamor of their fans prevailed when news broke out that the Eraserheads will have a one-night only concert at The Fort last year. Unfortunately, the concert was cut short nang isugod si Ely sa Makati Medical Center after suffering from chest pains during the intermission.
The concert was also a tribute to Master Rapper Francis Magalona who died a day before the concert. Francis was a good friend of the Eraserheads and collaborated with them in the song “Super Proxy” which was included in the band’s 1995 album Cutterpillow. Francis was supposed to perform Super Proxy with the group during the concert. Sinasabing may ginawa raw bagong album sina Ely at Francis titled Sickos Project.
Kaibigan, usap tayo muli!
