LONGTIME COUPLE Paolo Valenciano and Samantha Godinez finally exchanged “I do’s” last February 7 at the Manila Polo Club. Ang star-studded na kasalan ay dinaluhan ng kanilang mga pamilya at malalapit na kaibigan tulad nina Sharon Cuneta, ZsaZsa Padilla, Kuh Ledesma, Jericho Rosales, KC Concepcion, Iya Villania, at Martin Nievera.
The ceremony was solemn and touching kaya naman hindi mapigilan ng mga malalapit sa dalawa na maging emosyonal. At one point ay nakitang nagyakapan sina Gary at Paolo. Sabi nga ni Gab, “Alam ko naman na mangyayari ito. Medyo naging emotional ako na mawawala na iyong brother ko as a single man, pero ‘di naman siya mawawala. They’ve been together for six years so medyo sanay na kami.”
Gary and Angeli expressed their gratitude to Sam for coming into their son’s life. “Blessed ako kasi talagang niyakap ko si Samantha. Sabi ko, ‘Thank you for being part of Paolo’s life. You brought so much joy.’ Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘You don’t know how much you’ve touched him and how much that means to me.’ So, I’m very fortunate na my son made a good choice,” sabi ni Gary.
Nakakatuwa naman si Gary dahil hindi niya maitago ang kanyang excitement na magkaroon ng apo. “Bring it on! C’mon! My legs, kaya ko pang mag-swimming with my apo. And if Paolo doesn’t have time with his baby, bring him to Papi. I’ll take care of him. Papi ha? Hindi lolo.”
Everybody wishes the newly wed all the best in life. “I love you both so much and there’s nothing more in life that will make me happier than to see you guys flourish not just as individuals but as a couple. So God bless you. I’ll always be here for you and I love you both,” said Gab.
Martin, who is Sam’s uncle, said, “Remember, no matter how beautiful the wedding is and how much effort, love and money have been put into your wedding, it’s not the wedding, it’s the marriage. God bless you both and just know that Ninong Martin is always behind you.”
