GARY VALENCIANO understands where Rhap Salazar is coming from when he tweeted “I hate seeing artists lip-syncing on TV”.
“If you see kung ano ang pinagdaraanan ng mga singers, it’s nakakaano rin, nakaaawa rin… kasi talagang marunong kumanta pero hindi masyadong napapansin dahil nabibigyan talaga ng priority (‘yung non-singers), the more ‘yung mga visually ay nakikita,” paliwanag ni Gary as he was introduced as the endorser of Puregold’s PurePadala, a remittance service.
“I don’t think he was particularly… he was pointing to anyone in particular. Siguro narinig na niya iyan a number of times,” dagdag pa ng Mr. Pure Energy.
He doesn’t have anything against non-singers singing dahil “people are entertained”. Pero on a “professional standpoint” masisira raw ang effect nito.
At bilang endorser of PurePadala, ito naman ang say ni Gary V, “I’ve heard dreadful stories of parents who have saved up so much and then they send the money to their children for their tuition fee, for example, but instead of paying the tuition ay nag-enjoy sila sa Boracay, sa beach, bringing their friends along. So there’s nothing left now for college. It’s very difficult for families to go through this. At least now, with PurePadala, it is so easy for them to send money.”
