WITH HIS girls Friday in tow, sa halip na i-enjoy ni German Moreno ang bumabahang buffet sa birthday celebration ni Senator Bong Revilla Jr. sa Grand Ballroom ng Diamond Hotel last Monday, the Master Showman chose to hobnob with the latter’s celebrity guests.
Hanggang labas ng bulwagan ang mga well-wishers ng mambabatas, even as far as the poolside. Doon nag-iikot si Kuya Germs clad in a formal suit.
Kung totoo, Kuya Germs had better make up his mind. But October being his birth month, ang karaniwang month-long celebration ng kaarawan ni Kuya Germs is like a national holiday that he always looks forward to.
Moreso, Kuya Germs will not give up his show within the given campaign period.
SPEAKING OF Senator Bong’s 46th birthday, kung hindi kami nagkakamali, ang okasyong ‘yon was his dad Don Ramon’s first social appearance.
But at least two of Don Ramon’s children ay namataan namin: si Rowena who was hopping from one table to another at si Princess na medyo late nang dumating.
As usual, when flanked by the media ay wala na raw mahihiling pa ang senador sa buhay. More than anything, ang panalangin niya’y ang patuloy na pagbuti ng kalusugan ng kanilang ama.
Base naman sa aura ng dating senador (who chaired the committee on public works and highways during his time), taglay pa rin nito ang kanyang ageless charisma.
SECOND TIME to work together nina Luis Manzano at Vice Ganda sa This Guy’s in Love with You, Mare, the first was in the latter’s launching movie, ang remake ng Petrang Kabayo.
The latest Star Cinema movie is also their second chance to be directed by box office director Wenn Deramas, pero sa pagkakataong ito, there’s a common love interest to Luis and Vice, si Toni Gonzaga.
In real life though, common to Luis, Toni and Vice is their candor in speaking their minds without fear even if their mouths get them into trouble. Among the three, may pagka-cautious o maingat nga lang si Luis, napaghahalo kasi niya ang wit at humor with his natural gift of gab.
Sa kaso nina Toni at Vice, ilang pagkakataon na silang kapwa sumabit with their biting honesty, if not brutal frankness. Both have become under attack by the public who thinks they go overboard in their opinion-making business.
But as far as Toni and Vice are concerned as the cliché goes—nagpapakatotoo lang sila. Take them as they are, kung ayaw n’yo sa kanila, it’s something that bothers them the least.
By the way, This Guy’s in Love with You, Mare hits the theatres nationwide on October 10. Mataas ang box-office expectations sa comedy flick na ito following the mammoth success of Petrang Kabayo.
