THE WORLD OF showbiz is inarguably fascinating. Maaaring namamatay ka na sa puyat, pagod at gutom but once the cameras start to roll, you smile and face the cameras as if nothing happens. Once you become a star, you become a public property.
Marami ang gustong sumikat but longevity in the business is another thing. Kaya lagi kong ipinapaalala sa aking mga artista na mahalin nila ang kanilang trabaho.
Backroom introduces five fresh faces: Bianca Roque, K-La, Bonjovi Osorio, Neil Fereira and Richard Reyes.
Si Bianca ay isang MYX VJ who has done commercials/ endorsements with famous brands. She was a flight attendant before she joined showbiz. Ano nga ba ang maganda sa pagiging isang VJ? “Being a VJ is something that I really love doing. It’s fun. I feel like it’s an art: Being able to express yourself in so many ways by just talking and making people laugh. Everything about being a VJ is fun in a way that you get to know what’s behind the camera, how different rockers are once they’re offcam,” answered Bianca.
K-La has a powerful voice that’s easy to listen to. “I love entertaining people, being the center of attention. I love expressing myself through lyrics and movements.” Born and raised in Canada, she was discovered in a David Foster Star Search and performed with David Foster himself. She has rubbed elbows with Lionel Ritchie, Sinbad, Peter Cetera and William Joseph.
Bonjovi’s boyish look and irresistible charm can make him a suitable matinee idol. He idolizes John Lloyd Cruz and wants to be paired with Angel Locsin. Lumaki si Bonjovi sa Amerika but he returned to the Philippines in 2007. He is bent to do whatever it takes to become a star. “I can do anything. If you have passion, you become good at it,” he said.
Neil is the next big thing in the local action scene. He is a blue belter in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Bakit niya gustong maging isang action star? “Gusto kong makita ang aking sarili na gumagawa ng mga action scenes at nakikipagbarilan. There’s good money there. I just want to do it.”
Richard was a finalist in GMA 7’s Starstruck. Ngayon ay mas determinado siyang maging isang artista. “Gusto kong lumabas sa TV,” he candidly said. Lumabas siya sa Cherifer PGM at Yin Yang Cooling Tea television commercials at sa school play na Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He likes watching horror movies and lists Final Destination and Saw as his favorites.
Kaibigan, usap tayo muli!
