SOME GOOD THINGS never last. Ito ang puwede mong ilarawan ngayon kina Jake Cuenca and Melissa Ricks who have finally ended their two-year relationship. Unang i-namin ni Melissa ang kanilang break-up. “To be honest, wala na po kami ni Jake. And I just want everything to be okay para masaya lang tayong lahat, ‘di ba? Napapagod na ako ng takas nang takas sa camera. I want everything [to be] back to normal at wala nang intriga,” pag-amin niya sa abs-cbnNEWS.com during the launch of her latest endorsement.
Sinabi ng dalawa that there’s no third party involved sa kanilang hiwalayan. Pareho raw silang may mga bagay na dapat ayusin sa kanilang buhay. Although they have gone their separate ways, gusto pa rin nilang mapanatili ang kanilang friendship and they are both thankful for the time they have spent as a couple.
According to abs-cbnNEWS.com, Jake describes Melissa as “the most supportive girlfriend” and “the best girlfriend I’ve ever had”. He only has good words about her, “Sobrang bait niya. For me, I just hope we become friends. Pinagdadasal ko iyon. Sa lahat naman ng break-up, there’s a grieving process, there’s a moving on process. At the end of it, I hope we become friends.”
Melissa, on the other hand, describes Jake as her first love.
Una silang nagkasama sa ABS-CBN series na Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko kung saan gumanap si Melissa bilang Prinsesa Hiyas while Jake played Napoleon/Jaime Gatchalian. In the series, they were entered into an arranged marriage as a result of her father, Haring Haddi, making a peace treaty with the dalaketnons kung saan kabilang ang karakter ni Jake.
Parehong busy ngayon sina Jake at Melissa sa kanilang mga showbiz commitments. I think makakatulong ito upang hindi nila masyadong maisip ang kanilang break-up. Jake stars in the movie In the Name of Love na may international screening sa US at katatapos lamang ng teleserye niyang Green Rose. Melissa will be next seen on the upcoming ABS-CBN series Nasaan Ka, Elisa?
Indeed, it is always hard to say goodbye but I believe that time heals all wounds. Ang mahalaga ngayon ay willing sina Jake at Melissa na i-maintain ang kanilang friendship. If you cannot save the relationship then at least save the friendship, ‘di ba?
