MAGKAKAIBA MAN ng pro-pesyon, meron pang ring kuneksiyon.
This we realized after our closest friend Cristy Fermin wrote in her column (dated October 23, not here in Pinoy Parazzi) na ang nag-opera sa katrabaho namin sa Startalk TX na si Alyssa Alano at the Marikina Valley Medical Center happens to her anak-anakan, si Dr. Dennis Sta. Ana.
Medicine meets showbiz. Showbiz meets medicine.
Nang araw ring ‘yon, Alyssa underwent a third operation since she got confined after the near-fatal car crash at dawn last October 14, ramming at least two private vehicles when finally headed towards a steel barrier along Marcos Highway. Isang ga-lata ng sardinas in diameter ang bakal na tumagos sa kanyang tagiliran about two centimeters away from her vital organs.
Pinatotohanan ni Dr. Sta. Ana, contrary to initial reports, na hindi nakainom, much less lasing si Alyssa when she drove her Ford SUV to buy herself medicines dulot ng pananakit ng kanyang tiyan.
Pero ang higit na ikinabilib ng naturang attending physician, nakatarak na raw at lahat ang bakal sa katawan ni Alyssa who was rushed to the ER ay ang kapakanan pa ng mga may-ari ng mga sasakyang kanyang naperhuwisyo ang kanyang iniisip.
After stumbling upon Cristy’s column item, agad namin siyang tinext. Una, sa ngalan ni Alyssa ay nais naming itawid ang pasasalamat sa naging paksa ng kanyang kolum bilang isang napakagandang pagsalubong ni Alyssa to a sunny morning she would wake up to, despite the thick curtains inside her hospital room that would not allow a beam of sunlight to pass through.
Kabuntot din ng aming text kay Cristy na sana’y matutukan ng hospital staff ang kalagayan ni Alyssa, as she is a gem as far as Startalk TX is concerned. Describing Alyssa as a good soul, sabi namin kay Cristy, would not be enough. If God had showered upon mankind the gift of goodness, Alyssa must have received it all, most deservingly, in fact.
Ikinatuwa namin ang tugon ni Cristy, mismong si Dr. Sta. Ana ang may patotoo sa sobrang kabaitan ng kanyang pasyente. Maging ang mga nars daw sa nasabing pagamutan ay inaalala ni Alyssa, to think that she’s the one who needs more (medical) attention.
Admittedly, hindi pa namin nadadalaw si Alyssa sa ospital. Pero bilang pambawi for such shortcomings, we never fail to send her text messages wishing her recovery at its speediest.
Ilang Kapaskuhan na rin ang pinagsaluhan namin ni Alyssa sa Startalk TX. Fresh from her loose rendition of her Kiss Me na una niyang itinanghal sa late-night show ni Kuya Germs, nagsilbing pasaporte ‘yon ni Alyssa to explore a career avenue she thought she would not be able to traverse.
Despite her generosity, isa lang ang gusto naming maharbat na pamasko mula kay Alyssa, and through text, isang napakamakahulugang aguinaldo ang inaaasam-asam naming ibigay niya: “Alyssa, magpagaling ka agad, ‘yun na ang gift mo sa akin. I love you.”
“I love you, too… Tito Ron.”
ALL ROADS lead tomorrow to the Big Dome as the Artista Academy—TV5’s most ambitious attempt at discovering fresh talents—announces the Best Actor and the Best Actress after four months of rigid artista training.
Down to Top 6 ang naglalaban-laban for the two slots with P20 million worth of prizes up for grabs. Sino kaya kina Vin Abrenica, Mark Newmann at Akihiro Blanco will take home the proverbial bacon? At sa hanay naman ng mga girlalu, what future awaits Shaira Mae, Sophie Albert and Chanel Morales?
To make this item sound softsell, naging panauhin ng Startalk TX in its 17th anniversary episode si Ms. Lorna Tolentino. It was a “welcome back” segment for the returning actress whose last regular show in GMA was Startalk until she left in June 2007 nang pumanaw ang kanyang asawang si Rudy Fernandez.
Unknowingly, there was this staff from GMA’s Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break who wanted Ms. LT to deliver rehearsed spiels for whatever purpose it served. Natural, tumanggi ang manager ng premyadong aktres na si Lolit Solis. Alas kuwatro kasi ng hapon ng Sabado ring ‘yon, nakatakdang mag-judge si Lorna sa Artista Academy sa Broadway Centrum.
