I am back once again with the second part of the top Korean dramas last 2020! Did you love my list? Which one had you watched? Which ones are still on your to-watch list?
You cannot deny the fact that KDramas saved a lot of Filipinos from boredom while in quarantine. On the first part of our KDrama series, we mentioned some of the most popular ones. I also bet that you’ve seen at least one on that list. Am I right?
Well, I am going to add another five to that list, so take your phones with you and start jotting down the other five must watch Korean dramas!
The World of the Married
The World of The Married is a Korean drama series that was actually based on Doctor Foster from BBC One. This drama revolves around the famous family medicine doctor Ji Sun Woo (played by Kim Hee ae) and her husband Lee Tae Oh (played by Park Hae Joon). They shared a teenage son – Lee Joon Young (played by Jeon jin Seo).
The story tells that beneath the happy family that others see, are the scandalous events revolving them. From betrayals, extra marital affairs, portrayals of violence and sex, The World of The Married holds the highest rated Korean drama in cable history! Watch it in order to understand why!
Hospital Playlist
From the writers of the super popular series trilogy Reply Series and the creator of the iconic Prison Playbook, writer Lee is back again with another masterpiece in the form of Hospital Playlist. This series tells the story and the life of five doctors. They’ve established their friendship during the first day of medical school and has been reunited again to work in a single hospital. This show follows the decisions they had to go through in life, love, inside and outside of the operating room. With tons of slice of life pieces sprinkled across the series, this light and funny drama will keep your hearts warm and yearning for more!
Itaewon Class
The rise of the underdogs is probably the best phrase to describe this masterpiece. It stars the hilariously funny and great actor Park Seo Joon as the lead role. Based on the webtoon, Itaewon Class, this drama is among the highest rated Korean drama in cable television history. It shows the struggle of Park Sae-Ro-Yi who was imprisoned for his beliefs and attempting to murder Jang Geun-Won, the heir of the food giant Jangga Group.
Overcoming all the hurdles against him – lack of education, criminal past, biased opportunity structures, Sae-Ro-Yi, who was once the underdog persevered against all odds, without compromising his principles, to acquire Jangga Group and merge it with his own company – Itaewon Class.
Hyena
Hyena stars starring Kim Hye-soo (as Jung Geum-ja) and Ju Ji-hoon (as Yoon Hee-jae). These two lawyers are at the top of their game when they encountered each other in numerous occasions. Working for the top law firm in the country, Jung Geum-ja is a ruthless lawyer who does anything to win. She is a true hyena who hunts to win and to achieve fortune and fame– doing anything from defying law, justice and ethics. She encounters her total opposite – Yoon Hee-jae, an equally talented and elite lawyer who relies mostly in his abilities, tenacious mind and huge ego. Despite his skills, he gets outsmarted by Geum Ja too many times to his liking.
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol
If you are in need of a good romantic comedy, you might want to give Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol a try. This series revolves around the shiny as a penny, bright but now poor pianist Goo Ra Ra (played by Go Ara) and the trust worthy part timer of all sorts Sunwoo Joon (played by Lee Jae-wook). The story centers at the La La Land, a tiny piano institute in the country side of South Korea and the people that flows in and out of the building.
