KOREAN WAVE OR Hallyu is sweeping across Asia like storm.
Nagkaroon ng mga Pinoy adaptations of popular Koreanovela hits like My Girl, Only You and Lovers in Paris na pinagbidahan ng mga hottest stars natin sa showbiz.
Korean songs are enjoying radio airplay. Since last year ay sikat na sikat ang mga kanta ng Super Junior (“Sorry, Sorry” and “It’s You”), 2NE1 (“Fire” and “I Don’t Care”), Wonder Girls (Nobody na may English and Korean versions) at 4 Minutes (“Hot Issue”). Nagkaroon din ng mga parodies gaya ng kantang “Sorry, Sorry” which was performed by Pinoy inmates. Sa palagay ko ay hindi magtatagal at tiyak na papatok din ang mga kanta ng TVXQ whose album was recently released in the country.
Katulad ng TVXQ, the albums of Super Junior, Girls’ Generation and SHINee are already out in record bars nationwide.
Nagulat nga ako minsan sa The Buzz kasi while we were discussing some issues on our POV segment ang background music namin ay ang kantang “It’s You” ng Korean idol group na Super Junior. Although I don’t know the lyrics of the song, the music is catchy and addicting.
The pop idol group SHINee recently performed in-front of Pinoy fans in a concert titled Philippines-Korea Friendship Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Kasama rin sa concert ang Korean jazz group na Winterplay at ang rap duo na Mighty Mouth. SHINee sang their hit songs “Stand By Me” (official soundtrack of the Koreanovela Boys Over Flowers), Juliette and Ring Ding Dong. SHINee belongs to the same management agency as TVXQ, Super Junior and Girls’ Generation.
The F4 fever is back one more time dahil muling nagbalik ang rich and handsome Korean F4 na sina Lee Min-ho (Goo Jun Pyo), Kim Hyun-joong (Yoon Ji Hoo), Kim Bum (So Yi Jung) at Kim Joon (Song Woo Bin) sa Primetime Bida with Boys Over Flowers.
The year is still starting. Sa palagay ko, the Korean fever is here to stay at marami pa ang “lalagnatin” sa darating na panahon.
Kaibigan, usap tayo muli!
