AS IN ANY awards night, hindi nawawala ang mga protesta as regards the winners of certain categories after the ceremony.
I hope that the PMPC won’t kill me for this, pero inalmahan namin ang choice in the most hotly contested category na Best Drama Actress na napunta kay Gretchen Barretto. She won for her performance in Magkaribal, besting Lorna Tolentino and Amy Austria in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, among others.
Pareho naming nasubaybayan ang mga naturang teleserye ng ABS-CBN, kung paanong nakatutok kami sa pagganap ng mga nominado. If beauty, so they say, is in the eye of the beholder, nasa pulso rin ng manonood ang inaakala niyang mahusay na performance.
For Gretchen to be nomina-ted alongside Lorna and Amy ay tanggap namin although half-heartedly. But for Greta—being a NON-ACTRESS (whether she likes it or not)—to outdo LT and Amy, teka muna. Huwag nang isama ang ilang retokadang bahagi sa mukha ni Gretchen, but her lip movements failed to synch with her other facial parts kapag umaarte.
Liliwanagin ko lang po, maraming taga-PMPC ang mga malalapit sa akin. Hindi rin naman kasalanan ni Greta if she was the choice of the body, but I stand my ground… Gretchen was least deserving of the award!
PANGILINAN ANG KANYANG napangasawa (si Kiko), but whether or not there exists a blood relationship between her husband and TV5’s CEO, the fact remains that Sharon Cuneta has chosen to “marry” Manny V. Pangilinan lalo’t pormal nang isang Kapatid ang megastar.
As we all know, ang huling barahang itinaya ni Sharon sa ABS-CBN was the franchise program The Biggest Loser. In a sense, nagbabadya pala ang titulong ‘yon bilang buwelta sa naturang istasyon that lost the biggest star na kapos umano sa tamang pag-aalaga kay Sharon.
Hindi man kasi tahasang aminin ng ABS-CBN, but it had been quite unfair to Sharon in terms of projects being given to her. It seemed that all it had its eyes on were focused on Kris Aquino, lalo pa’t she happens to be the Presidential sister—that we wouldn’t care less.
Nakakalula ang umano’y isang bilyong kontrata ni Sharon doon, so far the heftiest talent fee that TV5 has ever offered.
With Sharon as the latest addition to the growing list of “fence-crossers”, ang mga istasyong nilalayasan ng mga artista patungong TV5—both GMA and ABS-CBN—should re-examine why there seems to be a repeat of the Biblical exodus by the Israelites from Egypt.
TV5’S BATIBOT, THE most loved children’s show marked its third season last Saturday sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na paggabay sa bagong henerasyon ng mga bata sa masayang mundo ng kaalaman. A consistent top-rater in its time slot (Mondays to Fridays, 9:30 a.m./Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.), maraming bagong segments at characters ang mas lalong magpapasaya sa mga batang manonood.
Ang mga bagong muppets na sina Sitsiritsit, Alibangbang at Tarsi ay makakasama sina Kuya Fidel (Abner Delina), Ate Maya (Kakki Teodoro), Kapitan Basa, Manang Bola, Ning Ning, Ging Ging, at Koko Kwik-Kwak sa pagkukwento gamit ang iba’t ibang illustrations, art forms at live action films.
Sa ikatlo nitong season, the kids are enjoined to send in their artwork, photos and videos kasama ang kanilang mga magulang at iba pang miyembro ng pamilya. Meron ding Batibot website kung saan maaari nilang makilala ang mga host ng programa at mga muppets.
