MALAPIT SA aming pre-teen years—redundant as it sounds—ang noo’y sikat na sikat na quartet na Apat Na Sikat, panahon kasi namin ‘yon. Naging kamag-aral pa nga namin noong second year college kami sa FEU si Arnold “Notnot” Gamboa in our English 3 class, na noong mag-krus muli ang aming landas ay siya na ang PR head ng Manila Hotel.
Ang katambal ni Notnot sa grupo ay si Maribel “Lala” Aunor, na noong huli na naming mabalitaan has embarked on a business hanggang sa ito’y lumago. Nawala man ang tanyag na quartet, Lala has left a showbiz legacy.
Ito’y sa katauhan ng kanyang singer ding anak na si Marion Aunor. Having made a name for herself, Marion is the ultimate fulfillment of Lala’s dream to become one of the country’s singers to reckon with.
Kahapon ay dinumog si Marion sa Lucky Chinatown Plaza sa Binondo para lalo pang paingayin ang kanyang mga relatable love ditties na Free Fall Into Love at Ako Siguro composed by her younger sis Ashley.
By the first quarter of 2016, nakatakda na ring i-launch ang kanyang ikalawang almbum sa Star Music simply titled Marion. Kasunod na rin ang kauna-unahang pagsabak ni Marion on the wide screen via the Arlyn de la Cruz-megged film Tibak.
Come Christmas, the US- and Canada-based Pinoy audience will see more of Marion. Leaving on December 16 with her mom and Ashley, Marion is scheduled to perform at D’Haven in New York on December 18, Step By Step Dance Sport in New Jersey on December 19, Ichiban Comedy Bar in San Francisco on December 20, and at the Canada Destination Center Transcona in Winnipeg on December 27.
Tanong lang namin, Lala… sino naman ang “Notnot” sa buhay ni Marion?
