SOBRANG EXCITED si Martin Nievera as he makes The Theater at the Solaire Hotel & Casino his new musical court. Kaugnay nito, everone can expect a world class performance daw in his upcoming concert Martin, Home At The Theater, slated this September 18, at 8:00 pm.
Para sa Concert King, it’s an honor at talagang exciting for him na gawin ito sa The Theater as his new home and concert playground because it is now considered as the premiere venue in the arts and entertainment scene.
“It’s pressure! Pressure,” sabi ni Martin. “Uhm… it’s pressure because it’s gonna be the first and we wanna do it big. It’s like my audition. If you perform here at The Theater in Solaire, then you know you’ve made it.”
With a capacity of 1,760, this fan-shaped lyric theater is the first in the Philippines and the third in Asia to have the Constellation Acoustic System. It is a cutting-edge technology created by Meyer Sound, which enables the acoustical properties of the hall to be altered to suit the nature of the performances taking place – at the flick of a button.
The Theater is the stellar location of local and international concerts, productions, and other performances. Crown jewel ito kung ituring ngayon kaya sinasabing perfect itong venue para sa nag-iisang Concert King ng bansa to perform.
“Martin, Home At The Theater… it is a celebration of my 33 years in showbusiness. This celebration was an idea of Solaire and of course my friends in the Fullhouse Asia Productions Inc. I did not want to do this at first, but when they said the three magical names… Louie Ocampo – musical director, the ABS CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, and of course it happens in The Theater at the Solaire no less, it’s already a no brainer.”
And since this is the first performance of Martin in The Theater at the Solaire, audiences can look forward to a different side of the Concert King – comfortable laid back, up close and personal, sharing and singing memorable anthems in his three-dacade reign.
“This is going to be memorable for me, and for everyone of course. Because, for one… I am older. I am more seasoned, wiser, and still loving to sing. This is indeed a concert experience like no other since I am home. The Theater at the Solaire is my new home.
“Join me as I sing all my hits and some unexpected numbers in this night of nostalgia and reminiscences. You’ll hear the songs that you’ve been dying for me to sing. Or… you’ve heard me sing. I’m sick and tired of medleys. You want full songs, right? But not that just my songs. We’re gonna bring a lot of… ‘coz in Vegas I’ve learned a lot about the whole casino scene. So, we’re gonna throw some songs that you might hear in Vegas’ casino. Plus the songs I’ve done in the last 33 years. It’s gonna be a long night!”
Is he looking forward na hindi lang isang gabi kundi magkakaroon pa ito ng repeat o kaya ay magiging series?
“Well I’m I’m hoping that the response will be to the point na… hey, let’s do a repeat and make it a series. This theater (The Theater In Solaire) is so in. We have Saturday Night Fever recently. Singing In The Rain is coming up. There’s so many things that are happening. But as far as a singer like myself, we’re just dying to sing.
“I’m looking for a place to sing. Big… small, it doesn’t really matter. I’ve done nightly shows, I’ve done shows in almost every hotel in the strip. I’ll be at the M Resort again in December, on the strip of Las Vegas. We can do that here. We should do that here. We have the best entertainers, the best singers, the best dancers. The best actors, directors, choreographers, musicians… you name it, we have the very best. So, why not here (at The Theater in Solaire), too. And the food is excellent,” panghuling nasabi ni Martin.
