THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY teems with famous stars who have foreign blood gaya nina Kim Chiu, AJ and Enchong Dee, Mikee Lee at Heart Evangelista na mga Filipino-Chinese; si Uma Khouny ay Filipino-Israeli; Yasmien Kurdi is a Filipina-Lebanese-Chinese; Gerald Anderson, Matt Evans, Melissa Ricks are Fil-Americans; Anne Curtis is a Filipina-Australian; si Jake Cuenca ay may dugong Spanish-Filipino; sina Matteo Guidicelli at ang magkapatid na Assunta at Alessandra da Rossi ay Filipino-Italians; and brothers Ryan, Geoff and AJ Eigenmann are of Swiss and American descent on their father’s side and Chinese descent on their mother’s side.
Speaking of Mateo, Italianong-Italiano man siya sa hitsura at pangalan (Gianmatteo Vittorio Fernan Guidicelli) ay Pinoy na Pinoy pa rin siya ayon sa kanyang butihing amang si Daddy Gianluca. “I guess he’s 99% Pinoy even if he’s 50/50. That’s the reality. Matteo really feels closer to the Filipino culture.”
Pagbibida pa ni Daddy Gianluca, “He’s a person who likes other people to be happy. He really wants to take care of people and wants other people to smile.” Patunay rito ang pagiging natural performer ni Matteo who was active in joining school plays when he was younger.
Matteo was born to be on top of his game. His claim to fame began with his career in kart racing. Naging isa siya sa mga pinakabata at most awarded racers sa buong mundo. Humakot siya ng halos 100 racing trophies. It is said that Matteo was only 11 years old nang mahilig siya sa larong karting when he was in Cebu.
Thanks to his passion for karting, it paved the way for him to be known in other fields like modeling, acting and singing. He is now a member of Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s elite circle of homegrown talents. Since he’s with Star Magic, muling naipamamalas ni Matteo ang kanyang husay sa performing arts like what he used to do when he was a kid. He is now regularly seen on Agua Bendita at lumabas na rin siya sa ibang ABS-CBN shows gaya ng Maalaala Mo Kaya: Piano, Ligaw na Bulaklak, Kung Fu Kids, Your Song: Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal, Go Kada Go at Let’s Go.
When asked for a message for his son, Daddy Gianluca said, “I would like to say to be always be what you are, to be simple, compassionate and dedicated to your work. I will always be supporting him (Matteo) whether in acting or car racing. He is my son. I will always try to support him as much as I can and I know that he deserves it.”
