TWENTY YEARS OLD, 18 years old ang sister, 3 years old ‘yung brother. Nang magbalik-‘Pinas si Matteo Guidicelli agad siyang nag-sign ng contract sa Star Magic. They launched him in ASAP as the newest member of the Kapamilya network. He sang with Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby then a solo number.
“I left for two years, nagpunta po ako sa Chicago, nag-aral ako du’n sa Columbia College. Na-realize kong gusto ko ang musical theater. When I was there, na-homesick po talaga ako. I was thinking of my opportunity rito sa ABS-CBN. Sabi ko, I’ll just take two years. I’ll learn as much as I can after two years… four years ang course du’n. First, I thought I’m gonna finish my course, sabi ko, huwag na, 2 years na ako rito, balik na ako ng Pilipinas.”
For two years, maraming na-realize si Matteo. Gusto niyang seryosohin ang career niya sa showbiz. Hindi naging hadlang ang pamilya niya para ipagpatuloy ang kanyang pag-aartista. “Very supportive naman ang parents ko. Every week, umuuwi sila to visit me. This time, showbiz is my first priority, diretso na. Supportive po talaga sila, basta I will finish two years in college, makuha ko ‘yung degree ko. Baka sa Ateneo or UP (University of the Philippines) ako mag-enroll dito. Pagkatapos ng Agua Bendita ako mag-e-enroll, kasi ang taping namin ngayon almost everyday. As of now, dream come true ‘yung role ko rito.”
Sa muling pagbabalik ni Matteo sa Dos, tuluyan na silang naghiwalay ni Erich Gonzales as love team, super close pa rin kaya sila tulad ng dati? “Nagkasama kami ni Erich sa ‘Ligaw Na Bulaklak’ at naging close kami du’n. Noon kasi, hindi pa ako marunong mag-Tagalog, siya ‘yung nagtulong sa akin. Nagtulong na magbasa ng script sa akin, siya ‘yung bumibili ng pagkain, ‘yung ganu’n lahat. Mabait si Erich kahit nu’ng nasa States ako, we keep in touch sa Facebook, text kami. Ngayon may bago na siyang love team si Enchong Dee, I’m happy for her.”
Hindi ba dumating sa point na nagkaroon ng feeling si Matteo kay Erich that time? “Wala po, trabaho lang ‘yun pero type ko siya, gusto ko siya as a friend.”
Sa bagong teleserye nina Matteo at Andi Eigenmann, kapansin-pansin ang pagiging super sweet habang nagti-taping. Simula na kaya ito ng isang magandang relasyon ng dalawa? “Maybe in the near future. Ngayon, hindi pa po. Kasi, we are all concentrated on our work. You’ll never know, I think there is posibility…”
Naikuwento sa amin ni Matteo na naka-tatlong serious relationship na siya in the past. Kung sakaling magkaka-girlfriend uli ang binata, mas type niya ang Pinay? “Gusto ko Pinay, ayaw ko ng foreigner. Nagka-girlfriend na po ako, I have three serious relationships. ‘Yung first girlfriend ko, 16 years old ako nu’n, nag-last for five months lang. ‘Yung second girlfriend ko, ganu’n din, 5 months. Pero ‘yung last, matagal, one year po. ‘Yung first from Cebu, the other one before I left from college,” tsika niya.
Sa kuwento ni Matteo, hindi kaya nagpapahiwalatig ito na malaki ang chance na maging sila ni Andi dahil half-Pinay ang dalaga? “Basta half-Pinay okey sa akin, type ko sila.”
Hindi rin itinago ni Matteo kung sino sa mga artista nating babae ang crush niya. “I was in Boracay for ASAP at ‘yung pinakamagandang nakita ko du’n dalawa po. I think, Cristine Reyes is very beautiful. And then si Maja Salvador. I think she is very charming, very sweet. When you see her, she’s cute with her new hair now… ang ganda niya, super! Si Cristine, ang ganda ng katawan, sexy! Very nice body!
“And I think, I really admire Sarah Geronimo for everything… she’s a very nice person. I watched her concerts, one in Batangas and one in Cebu. Billy Crawford introduced as, magkasasama kami sa Swatch. She’s very amazing, very down to earth. She’s really Sarah Geronimo. If you talk to her, parang wala lang siya… she’s very talented.”
Given a chance, dream din ni Matteo na maging singer at magkaroon ng solo album in the near future. “After Agua, I do really want to do music and I really want to pursue it!”
