NASUNGKIT NA rin sa wakas ng Pilipinas ang hinahangad na Miss World title! Megan Young makes history by bringing home the first ever Miss World title during the beauty pageant’s coronation night held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia.
Megan bested 126 other aspirant beauties and emerged as the first Pinay Miss World.
She was an earlier favorite kaya naman lahat ng Pinoy ay tumutok at umasa na sana siya na nga ang makapag-uuwi ng mailap na titulo. Prior to the coronation night ay nanalo rin siya ng ibang awards tulad ng Top Model competition kung saan siya ang nagwagi, the Beach Fashion pre-pageant challenge where she placed fifth, and the Multimedia Contest where she finished on the fourth spot. Nanguna rin siya sa pageant’s leader board early on the coronation night kaya lalong naging kapanapanabik ang competition.
Si Megan ang nanguna sa final round along with candidates from Brazil, Ghana, Spain, France, and Gibraltar. Humarap si Megan wearing a Francis Libiran pink gown sa final question and answer portion kung saan niya napabilib ang audience at judges.
When asked, “Why you should be Miss World?” Megan answered, “The Miss World for me treasures a core values of humanity and that guides her into understanding people why they act the way that they do, how they’re living their lives and I will use these core values in my understanding not only helping others but to show other people how they can understand others, to help others so that as one, together, we shall help society. Thank you.”
Among them were Queenirich Rehman (finished at the Top 15 in 2012), Gwendoline Ruais (1st runner-up in 2011), Carlene Aguilar (made it to the Top 15 in 2005), Ruffa Gutierrez (finished as second runner-up in 1993), and Evangeline Pascual (1st runner-up in 1973).
