MALAPIT NANG ITANGHAL ang musical stage play na Spring Awakening which is produced by Atlantis Productions. One of the cast members is Miguel Mendoza of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 fame. Unang nakilala si Miguel bilang contestant ng Philippine Idol until he won as PDA Season 2’s 3rd Star Dreamer. He will take his singing career a notch higher this time as a theater actor.
He will soon discover the nuances of adulthood and the pains of growing up. “Though I’m not a nerd, people think I am so I guess somehow it is me. I also like Georg’s scenes with his teacher because I can actually relate to it.”
Spring Awakening talks about several issues that confront the youth like sexuality. The stage play garnered eight Tony Awards including Best Musical when it was shown in the US. Remember that our very own Lea Salonga also won a Tony Award for her role as Kim in Miss Saigon. Spring Awakening also features music by the famous singer Duncan Sheik.
He has several experiences in school productions like Godspell and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.
Abangan natin kung paano tayo gigisingin ni Miguel once he sets foot on-stage as Georg in Spring Awakening.
