Lumagda sa isang memorandum of agreement (MOA) ang Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) at ang Commision on Human Rights (CHR) para paigtingin ang kamalayan ang publiko tungkol sa proteksiyon at promosyon ng karapatang pantao.
Ang nasabing kasunduan ay nilagdaan nina MTRCB Chairperson Atty. Eugenio “Toto” Villareal, CHR Chairperson Jose Luis Martin “Chito” Gascon, MTRCB Board Member Atty. Noel Del Prado, at CHR Commissioner Karen Gomez-Dumpit sa opisina ng CHR sa Diliman, QC noong Miyerkules, Dec. 9, 2015.
Ayon kay Chair Toto, ang MOA ay isang kumpirmasyon ng kooperasyon na meron ang dalawang ahensiya. Ibinahagi rin niya na bilang state institutions, ang CHR at ang MTRCB ay may ginagampanang mahalagang papel sa larangan ng pagbuo ng tinatawag na society o cummunity of values.
“The MTRCB of course is the institution of government that ensures that whatever is produced, that impacts on our future, builds on, draws from, and strengthens a humane, democratic, and peaceful society. The same also with CHR which is a constitutional body that promotes and protects human rights and we might be able to develop between the CHR and the MTRCB as we continue to promote the values of a human society.”
Dumalo rin sa ceremonial signing ang MTRCB executive director na si Atty. Ann Marie Nemenzon, mga board members na sina Atty. Jojo Salomon, Jackie Aquino-Gavino, at Gladys Reyes-Sommereux kasama ang CHR commissioners na sina Roberto Eugenio Cadiz at Gwendolyn Pimentel-Gana.
