WAS ABLE to browse Noel Ferrer’s newly-launched book, Sisikat Din Ako. Our good friends Arnel Ramos, Alwin Ignacio, and Jerry Donato were part of the book and they lend their intelligence in making the book a must-read.
Para sa mga gustong mag-artista, basahin n’yo muna ang libro ni Noel. Marami kayong matututunan, marami kayong mapupulot na maaari ninyong gamitin as you foray into showbiz. It says what you have to do to be in showbiz.
Ang medyo naloka lang kami na part ay ‘yung article about PR by a lady named Rikka Infantado. We didn’t enjoy her piece because it sounded off as mayabang. Sa first sentence pa lang ay meron na siyang aria about a paracetamol brand.
Sadly, too, she was not brave enough to discuss how she handled celebrities who were at one point embroiled in scandals during her stint as PR for Star Magic. Ni hindi nga niya mabanggit ang Star Magic, ‘no!
Rikka didn’t make sense because she didn’t discuss how damage control is done for misbehaving actors. Natakot siguro siyang matarayan.
Also, the book didn’t have stories on how some talent managers exploit their wards. It’s open secret in showbiz na merong actors na nagiging lover ng kanyang manager. You want us to name names?
