Una siyang nakilala sa That’s Entertainment until big breaks started coming his way. He became a grand slam Best Supporting Actor winner for his outstanding performance in Dekada ‘70 as Jules Bartolome, the eldest son of Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon whose radical ideology led him to join the communist movement. Piolo swept all award-giving bodies namely FAMAS, FAP, Gawad Urian, PMPC Star, UP Young Critics Circle Film Desk, Pasado, Gawad Tanglaw, and MMFF.
He is in high spirits because his primetime teleserye Lobo with Angel Locsin won the Best Telenovela at the BANFF Awards in Canada.
His face is everywhere from the billboards in EDSA to television commercials and print ads.
Piolo has now ventured into the exciting world of concert, album and movie producing. As a live performance producer, he produced his 10th Anniversary and Pop Icons concerts. He starred and produced the indie film Manila which had special screenings during the prestigious 62nd Cannes Film Festival.
What made him decide to produce? “I want to grow in this business. I don’t want to limit myself as an actor and singer. I want to broaden my horizon,” he enthused.
He shared, “I sleep and drink lots of water. I have a simple lifestyle.”
