FIRST TIME lang na makasama ni Piolo Pascual si Sarah Geronimo sa isang proyekto. Sabi ng aktor, it’s really great daw na makatrabaho ang singer-actress.
“It was fun,” sabi ng aktor. “It was my first time to work with her. And… hindi ko kasi siya kilala as an actress. Nakikita ko lang siya at nakakasama sa ASAP. Nakikita kong mag-transform kapag nasa stage na. This (doing a movie with Sarah) is a different deal. Because nakita ko talaga, we have to go through the journey of the love story. It’s about a break up,” pagtukoy niya sa istorya ng pelikula.
“But more than that, it’s really a story of love. You know, how they get together and they break up. Why they break up.
What do they follow. Is it their ambition or is it their love for each other?”
Member ng band ang role ni Piolo. Pareho sila ng character ni Sarah na may pangarap sumikat at magtagumpay sa larangan ng musika.
“I’m a mentor. And then she (Sarah) comes to the music camp. And then I eye her. I start courting her. And then we get together. And do’n nagsimula ‘yong conflict when I realized na parang ‘yong girlfriend ko, iyon na ang competition ko.
“Na… my realization is ‘yong parang gusto kong maging successful, kaso ‘yong naging kalaban ko, ‘yong mismong girlfriend ko. Na parang tumulong sa akin, iyon pa ang nagpa-realize sa akin ng reality. Na mas magaling pa siya sa akin. Na parang I thought she was gonna save me, akala ko siya ang magiging kapartner ko… siya pa ang nagpa-realize ng mga flaws ko. Ipinaramdam niya sa akin ‘yong gano’n. But not intentional.”
“It’s an interesting story specially this is written by Antoinette Jadaone, who’s known to be the Hugot Queen. And of course the boyfriend (of Antoinette) who is the director… Dan Villegas. Beautiful team up.”
Sa story, ano ba ang pipiliin ni Sarah… ang career o ang pag-ibig nito sa character ni Piolo?
“She doesn’t have to choose between her career or me. Because ang babae, pipiliin naman niyan ay ‘yong lovelife, e… naturally. Generally. Generally, ‘di ba? E, ang lalaki, mas pipiliin ang career. Siyempre kailangan mong itaguyod ang pamilya mo, e.”
Sa July 1 na ang showing ng pelikulang The Breakup Playlist. Pero bago ito, magkakaroon ito ng premiere night sa SM Megamall. Meron ding mga naka-schedule na international screening ang nasabing movie. Sa US at sa Canada on July 10, at sa Hongkong on July 12. Bongga!
