But if they thought it was one brilliant idea, mas ang dapat itawag du’n ay panlalamang sa mga kapwa nila kalahok in a series of challenges that required fair play.
Pruweba rin ng pagiging pasaway ng mag-inang ito ay ang pag-aklas ng mismong alyansang kinabibilangan nila, kakampi na ngang maituturing ay pinagwelgahan pa sila!
ONE AND A half months from now ay magpapaalam na tayo to a year that has been. At ikalap man ang lahat ng mga news – as well as noise-makers over the year, the biggest and the most controversial would still be the Ram Revilla murder case.
As of presstime, while legal efforts are being exhausted in the determination of the Ram’s killer as well as the brains behind the heinous crime, the plot now shifts to a telenovela-like direction that topbills Senator Bong Revilla and Genelyn Magsaysay-Bautista. But as to who is the protagonist and the antagonist in this tale of domestic scandal is for the public to judge.
Pero kung ang opinyon ng pangkalahatang entertainment press ang gagamiting sukatan, the baddie here—so it seems—is no less than Genelyn.
Mahalaga ang track record ng taong inaaway ni Genelyn, who happens to be Bong whose image is both loved and exalted by the press. Kaya hindi nakapagtataka kung sa aming pagmo-monitor ng mga published articles tungkol sa kaso, not one has ever written a negative item about Bong.
And how ironic. Si Genelyn dapat ang nakakakuha ng public sympathy over the loss of her son, even crying for justice for RJ and Mara’s alleged involvement in the murder case, yet the supposed “mater dolorosa” has been the subject of blatant attacks by the press dahil na rin sa kanyang mga pronouncements against Bong to whom she should feel greatly indebted.
It won’t be any surprise kung sa mga darating na araw—pagkatapos paratangan ni Genelyn na nagpapapogi lang si Bong to further advance his political interests—ay ang press naman believed to be the senator’s paid hacks ang pagbalingan ng galit nito.
IN DEFENSE OF the Revilla Family, ibinuko ni Cristy Fermin sa nakaraang episode ng Paparazzi ang umano’y pagwawala ni Genelyn sa harap ng tirahan nito along Aguinaldo Highway in Imus, Cavite noong isang taon.
Kaya kung balitang off-limits si Genelyn sa sprawling residence ng naturang angkan, blame it on her eksena of kaluka-lukahan. Obvious naman daw ang pinaghuhugutan ng hysterical acting ni Genelyn, as her support from more than half a million a month from the father of all her nine children had been reduced to P250,000.
Ayon nga kay Cristy, in these times when the face of poverty stares at most of our kababayans ay hindi pa ba ma-appreciate ni Genelyn ang halagang ‘yon? Going back to Genelyn’s hysterics, para na lang daw kalmahin ang kanyang naghihimagsik na kalooban ay binilhan na lang siya ng bahay at sasakyan.
And to think, dagdag pa ni Cristy, may limang taon na raw naputol ang ugnayan nina Don Ramon at Genelyn, kaya kung may karapatan man itong mang-ambus ng biyaya ay hindi ba’t dapat nakalaan ito for her children? And for her children alone?
