REGINE VELASQUEZ showed to all and sundry that she remains the country’s greatest female singer. Her concert with Jed Madela and Rhada for Solaire’s second anniversary concert last Saturday with Full House Asia Production and Sound Check as partners proved it.
Regine initially sang Dadalhin then segued to A Love Story which drew the crowd speechless. Her rendition, the best cover version that we’ve heard, was nakaaantig ng damdamin. Parang siya ang subject ng kanta, punung-puno ng emosyo ang kanyang pag-awit. Talagang halos maluha ang audience sa kanyang version na ‘yon. Not surprisingly, a few brave Reginians gave her a standing ovation.
Jed Madela naman proved that he’s indeed the Songbird’s male counterpart. His Living On A Prayer by Bon Jovi was a testament that he can give rock and roll number a fresh approach na hindi masakit sa tenga. Truly, he’s the greatest male performer this country has ever produced!!!
Radha was also in her element as she sang Aretha Franklin’s Respect with so much gusto. But her rendition of John Legend’s All Of Me nailed it. She’s so galing.
Nagbukas ang palabas with 5th Gen’s feet-stomping Queen of the Night number which segued to Adele’s Rolling In The Deep and Seasons of Love from RENT.
