AFTER GRADUATING from Ateneo with a degree in Literature last March, actress and television host Rica Peralejo says she is now ready to have a baby. “Gusto ko. We are hoping for a pregnancy by the end of this year, maybe December. We’re just really thinking about it kasi parang ayaw naman namin na masira iyong mga holidays, iyong parang nagmo-morning sickness ako. Tina-timing din namin nang maigi. When we got married kasi, I was already in school. Actually, puwede naman talaga [ako] magbuntis kung gusto namin kaya lang ayaw rin naming maging unfair to the baby na parang we can’t give our baby the full attention just because I’m in school. Mahirap talaga, eh. Ateneo is not that easy. The load is just very, very heavy.”
According to Rhea Manila Santos’ article in Push.com.ph, Rica and husband Joseph Bonifacio want to have three children. “I’m praying sana three boys. Gusto ko lahat boys para I can play with them talaga,” she says.
Maliban sa pagkakaroon na ng baby this year ay plano ring kumuha ni Rica ng Master’s Degree. Pinag-iisipan pa niya kung Sociological Science o Cultural Studies ang kukunin. “I want to take up a Master’s degree kasi parang it helps you study people and basically the nature of my husband’s ministry is dealing with people and parang mas maganda sana kung makatutulong ako sa ministry namin in ways like crafting policies, doing development studies, mga ganoon.”
It’s nice to see how Rica blossomed into a good and responsible wife. Rica grew up before our eyes since she started her showbiz career on the youth-oriented show Ang TV. Natunghayan natin ang iba’t ibang kabanata sa kanyang buhay – as an actress and tv host, when she got married to Joseph who is a pastor in Victory Christian Fellowship, and when she finally graduated from college. Naaalala ko pa nang sabihin niya noon that she will only get married when she finally finds a “Man of God” na ipinagkaloob naman sa kanya ng Diyos sa katauhan ni Joseph.
I’m happy for Rica because she has found the love and contentment she truly deserves. Happiness is written on her face because she and Joseph put God at the center of their lives.
Kaibigan, usap tayo muli!
