I HAVE RECENTLY announced the good news on Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN) that Roxanne Guinoo and her Chinese-Filipino boyfriend are finally tying the knot early next year.
Masayang-masaya ako para kay Roxanne because she has finally found the love she truly deserves. There may have been some hits and misses in her lovelife pero ngayon, she has finally hit the bullseye.
I know Roxanne from her Star Circle Teen Quest days where she emerged second runner-up. Isa ako sa mga jurors sa reality talent show kasama sina Ms. Gloria Diaz at Direk Lauren Dyogi. The show has a special place in my heart because this is where I saw the young Sandara Park, Melissa Ricks, Joross Gamboa, Hero Angeles and Roxanne start living their dreams. I could remember making funny, acerbic comments to the questors like “Alam mo, hijo, you’re very good looking but I’m bored” or “Para kang iced tea na walang ice.” Ang bilis talaga ng panahon and it has been almost six years ago na pala.
At bakit sa isang taon pa magpapakasal sina Roxanne? Her sister got married this year at naniniwala tayong mga Pinoy sa pamahiin na hindi dapat sa parehong taon magpakasal ang magkapatid dahil ito raw ay sukob.
Roxanne admitted February last year that she is in a relationship. She was also seen wearing a ring but she clarified that it was not an engagement ring.
She fell in love with her non-showbiz boyfriend because he respects her and her work as an actress. Pero dahil na rin siguro sa laki ng respeto ni Roxanne sa kanyang boyfriend kung kaya siya noon nagback-out bilang lead star sa isang television series which required her to do intimate scenes with her leading men. Rumors were flying that she started turning down projects with sexy scenes since she began going out with her boyfriend. I think Roxanne has her reasons and let’s respect her for that.
Now that Roxanne has finally admitted that she is engaged, tiyak na marami ang magtatanong tungkol sa lucky guy at sa kanyang nalalapit na kasal. The public is curious about the identity of her fiancé. Kailan ba ang exact date and would it be a beach, a private house or a church wedding? Sino ang nasa entourage? The guessing game lingers as we await Roxanne’s statement.
