BERNARD PALANCA was recently seen on ASAP 18 where he performed together with The Hunks kung saan siya kabilang kasama sina Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, at Carlos Agassi. Dahil dito ay marami ang nagtatanong kung tuluy-tuloy na ang kanyang pagbabalik-showbiz. “I’m open to anything now. Kung anuman ang itapon nila sa akin, tatanggapin ko iyon,” sagot niya.
Huli siyang napanood sa ABS-CBN series na Rosalka where he played Ramon Sta. Maria. Bernard is a Star Magic Batch 5 alumnus. He was alSo part of the band Bizkit Factory.
Ano nga ba ang tunay na dahilan why he decided to leave showbiz? “Not naman sawa but I just got tired. I got tired at a point kasi it was kinda hard dealing with all the negativity. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, their assumption or whatever they want to think. I do what I love to do and I accept everything. So whether or not I do something good or bad, I accept what comes after that.”
Is it about his rehabilitation? “If that’s the case, I did that personally. I really reinvented myself. It was my choice to take a breather. [I] come back now more refreshed. I got burnt out from all the work before. It was really a decision I felt I needed to do.”
Bernard has been in showbiz for several years now. Kilala sa showbiz ang kanyang angkan. His grandfather, Armando Goyena, was a matinee idol noong 1950s and his younger brother is Mico Palanca. His aunts Maritess Revilla-Araneta and Cita Revilla-Puyat were both Camay models while Tina Revilla-Valencia and Janet Basco are television hosts and singer, respectively. His uncle Johnny Revilla is an actor. Pinsan naman niya sina Bianca Araneta-Elizalde at Lexi Schulze.
He has a son, Elijah, with Meryll Soriano. Bernard vehemently denied na pinagbabawalan siyang makita ang kanyang anak. “No, not at all. I was with my son. There was never a time na I couldn’t see him. In fact, I just met him yesterday again.”
