IF WE were part of TV5 management, we would take offense at Sharon Cuneta’s recent pronouncements following her return to ABS-CBN.
Sa presscon kasi ng programang kinabibilangangan niya sa Dos, tahasan niyang sinabi na pinagsisisihan niya ang pag-alis doon, believing in the tsismis na nakarating sa kanya na ikinatampo niya sa management as well as mistrusting her emotions.
Dagdag pa ni Sharon, she felt she didn’t belong somewhere else kundi sa ABS-CBN, ang kanyang tahanan.
Three years ago when Sharon’s TV career was salvaged by TV5 dahil nawalan siya ng regular show sa Dos. People instantly jumped the gun that there was an “unseen hand” kung bakit less favoured siya roon kumpara sa isang equally popular TV personality.
How much was Sharon offered by TV5, milyones, ‘di ba? She was probably the highest paid transferee from another channel with a contract price that the network paid without hesitation.
Pero para palabasin naman ni Sharon na hindi siya natulungan ng istasyon sa panahong she had nowhere to go is something she has to seriously reflect on. Yaman din lang na ni-reassess niya ang kanyang mga pagkakamali, acknowledging one’s mistakes is also being grateful sa mga biyayang dumarating sa kanyang buhay—and in Sharon’s case, the offer from TV5.
With her return to ABS-CBN, hindi naman masasabing isang major show ang kanyang comeback vehicle, is it? Is it all her own, hindi naman, ‘di ba? It’s just like Sharon is thrown into a lair where she shares her fierceness with the rest of the lions, hindi niya solo ang kulungang ‘yon for all the spectators to see how she growls.
