“IT FEELS really great to see how everyone’s hard work has paid off and lead to this masterpiece of a film. Thank you very much @StarCinema and Direk @chitorono for the opportunity and for trusting me to portray the role of Sampi and to be a part of this marvelous movie.”
“Congratulations to everyone that worked on the film! Everyone, please do watch #TheTrial when you have the time. It’s out in cinemas nationwide today, October 15. thank you very much in advance!”
Ang Hukluban ( gothic romance film) is inspired by 1983 Gil M. Portes drama thriller Gabi Kung Sumikat Ang Araw, which features a cursed woman who is beautiful at night but transforms into a crone (hukluban), — an aging old woman — by sunrise.
Immortal, the woman can only hope for true love to break the curse. The script of Eric Ramos examines the plight of Mira, a young and beautiful but enigmatic and cursed woman with the vibe of an old soul. She bears a secret curse, romancing three men in different generations — in search of true love that may break that spell that binds her.
