DEREK RAMSAY known for taking in roles that could be easily classified as risqué – No Other Woman, Ex With Benefits, Kasal, The Escort and A Secret Affair to name a few. Why not? He has the body and the face that would make most people swoon, and the stare that could make your knees weak like jelly.
But in reality, he is the opposite of the characters that he played. He is a doting father to his son, Austin, an enthusiast for local arts and artists, and of course, a collector of good cars.

EARLY LIFE
Derek, or Derek Arthur Paggao-Ramsay, was born in Enfield, England on December 7, 1976 to British father Derek Ramsay Sr. and Filipina mother Remedios Paggao – Ramsay. Although he was born abroad, he was raised in Cainta, Rizal. He got his education all over the world – high school in the Philippines, boarding school in England and eventually and undergraduate degree in Boston.
He was formerly married to Mary Christine Jolly, but was separated after a year. He has a son named Austin.
CAREER BEGINNINGS
Derek began his career in showbusiness through several means. He started out as commercial model, TV endorser and an MTV VJ in the early 2000s. He had a brief stint hosting at Eat Bulaga under the segment of Pool Watch.
From 2005 to 2011, he worked on various roles in ABS CBN shows. Some shows in which he hosted are Entertainment Konek and U Can Dance. He appeared in several segments of the longest Philippine anthology series Maalaala Mo Kaya. He also took in several supporting roles in various television dramas like Ysabella, Magkaribal and Habang May Buhay.
His first film was with Star Cinema in the movie Kasal Kasali Kasalo. It was followed with several films such as One More Chance, Sakal Sakali Saklolo, T2, And I Love You So and I Love You Goodbye.
TV5 CAREER
In April 2012, he transferred to another network, TV5, honoring a three year contract. There, he hosted the worldwide series Amazing Race Philippines and appeared in several shows such as Kidlat, Undercover and For Love Or Money. He signed another three year contract and continued appearing in various shows and television series.
FILMS AND AWARDS
In 2010, he won the Pinakapasadong Katuwang na Aktor Award at the 12th Gawad PASADO Awards for his film I Love You, Goodbye. In 2011, his film with Viva films and Star Cinema, No Other Woman, won him the Box Office King Award at the GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment.
His first film project with Quantum film, English Only Please had earned him several awards and nominations. He won the Best Actor award at the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival in 2014.

Derek has had a good list of ex-lovers in and out of the world of showbusiness. He was linked to Mary Christine Jolly, Solenn Heussaff, Anne Curtis, Angelica Panganiban, Alexa Amos, Cristine Reyes, Joanne Villablanca and recently with Andrea Torres.
Current news speculates on the breakup of Derek and Andrea, as they seem to have been going strong. What they show on their Youtube account (Andrek Vlogs) and their other social media account is a picture of a happy couple, literally building their home together. Although Derek insisted that there is no third party involved in the relationship, the public is still waiting to hear Andrea’s side.
Although his personal life suffered a bad blow, with his break up, there is still a silver lining on all this. He will be celebrating his birthday in a few days, and we only hope that everything gets better for this talented actor.
