AS AN AVID fan of The Voice, you can say that I religiously watched all the seasons. From kids, teens to normal ones, I watched them all. It was where my attention was caught by the wonderful Lala Vinzon.
The first ten seconds of her audition had me enamored with her crooner voice! I couldn’t even imagine that such young girl could cover one of Buble’s most iconic songs! So throughout the competition, I rooted for her!
Although she did not win the grand prize, I think that stint in her life gave her enough exposure and opened doors to showbusiness. Through the years she managed to showcase her talents, many of them, and find her niche in the industry. Here are some of the things you may not know about Lala Vinzon.
EARLY LIFE
Lala was born as Isabela Vinzon on Octover 4, 2001 to parents Roi and Jen Vinzon. Her family originally hails from Mexico, Pampanga. Lala graduated high school from the Infotech Institute of Arts and Sciences. Her father is a huge action star back in the 90s and is still visible playing father roles in teleseryes.
CAREER BEGINNINGS
Lala started her career in showbusiness late compared to the other kids of superstars. She first joined the reality singing competition The Voice Teens Philippines Season 1 back in 2017, when she was about 16 years old. IN the audition she sang Feeling Good by the crooner Michael Buble. At the end of the competition, she was a runner up, with the grand title going to Jona Suguite. After her stint at The Voice, she became a mainstay at the Sunday variety noontime show Asap Natin ‘To.
JUGGLING BETWEEN SINGING AND ACTING
Last 2021, Lala signed a contract with the GMA Artist Center together with other Kapuso artists such as Ashley Alcayde, Sandro Muhlach and Hannah Arguelles. With her new network, she debuted in the noontime show All Out Sundays.
Among her famous songs are “Right Now”, “Lihim”, “Pansamantala” and “We Got This” with the Malaysian actor and singer Alvin Chong.
As for the acting, Lala is slowly making her way into television series and appearances. She is currently appearing in the television drama series Little Princess in GMA Network. The show stars Jo Berry in the titular role. She is also working with Rodjun Cruz, Angelika Dela Cruz, Jestoni Alarcon and Geneva Cruz.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Lala also has her own Youtube account which mainly shows her love for music. Here you can see her music videos and even various mash up covers of different singles. Her account currently has over forty thousand followers.
She also recently appeared in The Boobay and Tekla Show as a guest in their episode the Triple Threat. Lala is set to appear in the Regal Studio Presents: Stop in the Name of Love this coming march 20. The show will aire at 4:35PM after The Best Ka! She will work with Leandro Baldemor, Almira Muhlach and Saviour Ramos.
I admired Lala more when I watched her Pansamantala behind the scene video. She was so unapologetically herself and dedicated so much to her craft. She writes her own songs, is hands on with the production from beginning to end and of course very real. She is not afraid to show her true self even behind the camera. See the messy desk she has? That’s normal. Hear the monologue in the video? Fantastic, raw and real. She is more than just her stunning physical appearance but she has a pure and beautiful heart as well. We do stan Lala!
