With the team’s inarguable success, however, comes a sprawling football field of intrigues. Lately, ang hindi pag-cover ng sportscaster na si TJ Manotoc on the Azkals’ daily grind has cost him his job.
Sa GMA-7, it’s Chino Trinidad who’s giving us every move and groove of Azkals, samantalang si TJ naman ang nakatoka sa ABS-CBN. Before the team left for Japan, even prior to that ay si Chino na ang tutok na tutok sa mga ensayo ng Azkals to prepare itself for another match in freezing cold Mongolia.
Naloka raw ang news desk ng ABS-CBN nang umere sa GMA-7 ang ulat ni Chino, himself close to being an Ice Man, sa isang bahagi ng Star City kung saan nagte-training ang Azkals. As if the team’s recent Baguio training under extreme cold weather was not enough ay pinag-ensayo sila sa literal na nagyeyelong lugar.
For TJ who’s tailing behind the team anywhere it goes, paanong nakalusot ang eksenang ‘yon sa Star City?
Ang ending: demoted si TJ! Ibang sportscaster na ang ini-assign para mag-cover sa Azkals… and I could just imagine’s TJ’s cold feet as well!
DESPITE THEIR “SOCIAL differen-ces”, swak na swak bilang mag-co-hosts (not necessarily cohorts) sina Lolit Solis at Tim Yap sa Tweetbiz Insiders. Nitong Lunes, papalipad patu-ngong South Korea si Tim for an engagement, time of departure was 5 pm, pero mag-a alas tres na ng hapon ay nagte-taping pa kami for Tweetbiz Insiders! “Kaya ‘yan,” Tim assuringly told us. To think na uuwi pa pala siya sa kanyang tinitirhan para mag-empake pa lang! “Kaya ‘yan,” walang katensiyon-tensiyon na sabi pa ni Tim.
Dayalog ni ‘Nay Lolit: “Alam mo, Tim, kung magkasabay tayo mag-abroad, mag-aaway lang tayo!” ‘Nay Lolit kasi makes it a point to be at the airport three hours before departure time. Maging ang co-host din nila na si Gelli de Belen ay nate-tense para kay Tim, ourselves included.
At exactly 4:24 pm., I got a text message from Tim: “Yahoo! Made it to my flight! Called the GM (general manager) of Cathay pa not to close the gate.”

Ang mga demonyong ito ang nagbuyo sa mga bida na lumabag sa batas resulting in a community problem. Kung paanong malulusutan nina Tonton at Didoy ang perhuwisyong pinasok nila ang tampok sa Sunday’s episode ng Pidol’s Wonderland.
