“First of all it’s not easy to cope kasi I am a nurse, I’m an OFW so to be away from my wife, from my family and you’re very helpless dahil wala akong magawa sa sakit niya kasi there’s no cure. It was very difficult as a husband to see your wife come that way, being so helpless,” paliwanag ni TJ sa amin kung ano ang challenge ng role niya.
TJ and his team went to a mental institution to observe people afflicted with schizophrenia.
“We went to visit patients, we spoke to them. That really helped a lot. We had a very lengthy, a lot of meetings with a doctor so that really helped a lot,” kuwento ni TJ.
Kasama ang Mga Anino ng Kahapon sa New Wave Category ng Metro Manila Film Festival New Wave na showing from Dec. 18 to 24 sa Glorietta and Megamall cinemas.
“I do hope that people will watch it because there’s one part of the film which tackles the belief na akala nila the disease will be makukuha sa albularyo. There has to be awareness to take that notion out kasi nga habang maaga, if treated… you can avoid naman to get it full-blown, eh.”
