PAULO AVELINO just celebrated his 34ths natal say last May 13, 1998. As a long-time fan, I am excited as he enters a new chapter in his life.
I have been a fan since StarStruck days and to see him now as one of the most prominent actors in the industry, I am so proud to have rooted for him throughout the years.

Goyo: Ang Batang General
This film is one of his iconic and memorable one, in my honest opinion. Not every day an actor gets to play one of the most beloved and dashing national hero of the country. Paulo here plays the titular role, General Gregorio del Pilar as he fought the iconic Battle of Tirad Pass. This is an iconic film because it was highly acclaimed for its acting, music set design and cinematography. In this film, he worked with a star studded cast which includes Carlo Avelino, Mon Confiado, Epy Quizon and Empress Shuck.
Ang Larawan
Ang Larawan is probably one of the most expensive films ever to produce, with a budget of 25 million pesos. The film was based on the 1997 stage play Larawan. Both were based on the 1950 literary play A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino by National Artist Nick Joaquin. The story revolves around a masterpiece of a painting, being sold by two impoverished sisters played by Joanna Ampil and Rachel Alejandro. The film won five awards at the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival including Best Picture, Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Award, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Special Jury Prize, Best Musical Score and Best Production Design.

This unconventional and out of the box film is probably among my favorites in Paolo’s films. This 2013 romance drama film centers around a woman played by Lovi Poe as she decides to not marry the man she is engaged with, played by TJ Trinidad. Paolo here, who played the role of Dennis reminded her of the person whom she really loves. This film won 8 awards at the 2013 Cinemalaya including Bests in Film, Director, Sound, Original Music Score, Editing, Production Design, Cinematography and Best Supporting Actor.
Status: It’s Complicated
Status: It’s Complicated is the sexy comedy film you would want to watch after a very difficult day at work, when you want to chill and relax. This was actually a remake of the 1970 film Salawahan directed by the legendary Ishmael Bernal. The story revolves around two roommates, of different background and beliefs who dared each other to swap dating lifestyles. The conservative one would play the field, while the player would try to commit. Chaos will surely ensue! This film stars Paolo Avelino, Jake Cuenca, Eugene Domingo and Maja Salvador.
I’m Drunk I Love You
I’m Drunk I Love You, in my opinion is one of the most quintessential one sided love story film in Filipino televisions. Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino played the role of college best friends who were there for each other through thick and thin. Although, Carson (played by Maja) has been secretly in love with Dio (played by Paulo) for seven years. Carson gave her self until graduation day to confess her love for Dio. Will the intoxication of beer or of love make the truth resurface?
